you wonder how you got by with the desk-top ! The only real issue is if others want to view screen with you, it's hard to angle it right for more than one viewer. That's more a function of CRT display vs. LCD display. I still have an old CRT ( telivision set size, almost) on the desk-top. I refuse to update it while it still works !

I'm liberated from the basement room with the cat-box 10' away !

I just lost my office with a desk top, 3 TVS, 2 filing cab's, and a bookcase with over 100 books on casino's sportsbooks and gambling to my first born (son) being due. Converting it to the BABY's room couldn't be happier. My question: What is the best deal on a wireless laptop?, currently have a cable modem here BTW.

Research threads started by me about a month ago, it's pretty current, still. I doubt everybody wants to do it again !

Unless you have the need for a laptop-travel, living room, etc-they are junk.

More expensive
Slower
Much less durable

I've had a lot of laptops, and in the end, I only use them on the road. BTW, you can usually hook one up to a REAL monitor.

If you're dead set on a laptop, look at the Sony Vaio's with the 15-16" screen. Well worth it if you're going to buy one (which I wouldn't if I paid for it).
