time to change the value of a unit.. that shitt is amateur...i guess it looks good when you can say you are +100 units

games should be 1 unit, 1.5 unit 2 at the most.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I'm cool with 1-5, any more variance is too much, IMO.

Thank you.

Your 1 unit, 1.5 unit, and 2 unit guidelines are perfect imo.

I could'nt agree more.

Sorry I dont meet your gambling requirements. My system is only up over 200 units in the year and a half I have posted here. And yes when a game is a 5 unit game it is a huge mismatch at the favorable odds that I require thus I bet 5 times my usual bet. If you dont like it dont read my posts, but more importantly dont tell me how to gamble with my money. At $500 a unit you can figure out how I am doing.

Thanks for the advice gambling experts that never post a pick or help anyone.

Sometimes I really wonder why I waste my time.

both parties are right....

the UNIT size should be relative to the size of the BANKROLL & how easily it can be replenished.....

if you are using a SMALL bankroll that could be replenished, 1-5 units? why not?

if a larger Bankroll that you are CAREFULLY managing 1-2 units seems more wise.....

Not everyone uses units as a percentage of bankroll. I keep my units as $100 for the sake of posting so it is easy to follow. As I progress in the season and the bankroll goes up, I increase the number of units as opposed to increasing the size of a unit. This way, as the season progresses anyone can look at my numbers and see where I am at.

for the year I am 154-125 +53.60 units. Or at $100 I am plus $5360 in plays that I have posted in this forum. Obviously my system is not working and I should follow a poster that has never given anyone a winner or helped anyone here make a red cent.

Amazing how the biggest egos on this board belong to the watchers and not the doers

Maybe using a small bankroll that could be replenished is Noreaga's definition of amateur. This debate seems to have no correct answer.

and Im sure you will post it after the game is over. All my picks were 1,2,or 3 unit plays and once I got up comfortably they went to 1,3 and 5 units. If that is unreasonable by your standards you can bite my rear.

Why don't you go to the baseball forum and see if they think I should change to your expert standards or if I should keep doing things the way I am. Or, better yet ask them who they would rather have posting, a bitter gambler who is an expert about everything yet adds little to the forum, or someone that has made them a lot of money.

I bet from 100 bucks a game for fun up to 10k. When someone posts plays it should be on a 1-5 scale system. If you aren't allowed to bet more on the plays you really like and feel good about, you will become nothing but a bookies best friend by giving up way too much juice. At 1-5 units you are able to relax and bet big on ones you feel strongest about. Too many people here play way too many games and if they would pick and chose more carefully they would have a few 5 unit plays a week and probably win more money in the end.

I recently start posting my plays, all 5 units plays, I went 1-5 yesterday, now I have to catch up at 5 units, if its that easy, bet a nickel a game and collect your winnings. the bottomline I am betting $500 a game, what edge does anybody have? thats right they have to pick WINNERS...

Because it sounds like you know what your doing. Considering the majority of bets are 2 horse races, a baby either spits their dummy out or not, guessing can sometimes pay. Rather than the 10 units Pheonix -2, some critera for betting would be nice, but ego can be a big thing.
