Something strange about this game. Line opens -120 and since been bet up to about 133 or so at Pin. Why? With Vlad out and the pitcher for the Angels starting only his second game in his career and his first game he gives up 6 runs in 4 innings. Seems the whole board is on Chi. Also checked player consensus at Carib and wagerline and it is the same everyone on Chi. I have seen this too many times they are taking all you can give them on Chi with a smile. I'm going the other way.

Santana +123 1 unit and also runline +1.5 -140 1 unit

Probably smart play. Books aren't that dumb, and they aren't in this to lose money. These are the types of games where they make a killing.

But damn, I have to take a step back and figure out what reason this line could be what it is? I think it's just two solid teams in the Angels and White Sox going head to head and the Angels are at home. When they set these lines, I think they know the whole world is going to go on Garland. But I think if they set it too high, the Angels are a solid pick at that price. I refuse to believe that the books "know" who is going to win games beforehand, regardless. With Vlad out, and this guy making his 2nd start, I'll stick with the Sox at this price, but def not loading up on it for a zillion units. I personally can't pull the trigger on a game, "just because" or because the line is out of whack, or because the books are trapping me.
Best of luck on your play!

I agree Box...................
It's not like the Sox suck..............we're not talking about Hou on the road................and everyone is waiting for Garland to lose - the "due theory". I saw alot of people bet against Willis last game that he actually lost, thinking they were geniuses for figuring that out......................the same will probably hold true here. Many will think Garland is due for that loss - on the road as Willis lost.................heck, maybe even the books are waiting for him to lose.....lol.......................GL......like your card today alot Box.............

BIG night for MIA FLA tonight!!!!!!

Garland has to lose sometime this year, right?. Not the Sox favorite place to play over the years.

From CBS Sportsline:

Garland is 2-4 with a 4.34 ERA in eight career starts against the Angels, who have a 37-13 record at home over the last 10 seasons against the White Sox.
"Maybe it's the time change, or maybe it's just one of those things," Garland said. "We go out there with no luck, and even if we play well, nothing seems to go our way."

Reasons the line is priced the way it is. The Angels ARE in first place. The White Sox lineup is a little overrated. The Angels are at home. Garland isn't exactly a household name. This is the first year that he has had this type of success.

It probably is a little underpriced though.

I think Angels after a loss are 14-5 and Garland has lost 4 straight here.

Sox historically poor on the west coast. That was proven when they dropped 2 of 3 to Oakland earlier this month.

I'll bite...and bite big. There is a lot of value on the White Sox with this line. I think I would take any of their starters with this line against an Anaheim team that was already struggling to score runs even with Guerrero. The White Sox are 16-7 on the road while Anaheim is only 10-9 at home. The pitching matchup obviously favors Chicago. The line is in Chicago's favor big time regardless of the outcome.

I am not big on comparing stats that happened in previous season's because there are very few teams that remain the same in baseball. These are completely different teams than those that won/lost the last few years in Anaheim.
