I don't think it did. Reminds me of when the Bills got Christie to replace Norwood or Janakowski to replace I think Cole Ford after both players cost their team titles or conference championships.
Bentley did have a great line when Lou Holtz recruited him. When Holtz asked Bentley if he sent him out there one on eleven, could he count on Bentley to kick it out of the endzone for a touchback. Bentley's response was "yes, but if not, he'd make the tackle". As overrated as he ended up, I always loved that answer.
He also made a last-second game-winning field goal for Florida St. in the Orange Bowl vs. Nebraska, which won Florida St. the mythical National Championship.
