Watched as soon as he came in, never had his control, and subsequently ruins another wonderful performance by Roger Clemens. Makes me sick to my stomach, and I don't even particularly like Rocket or the 'Stros. Clemens is as good as gone to NY by July.

I feel for Roger Clemens. He continues to pitch great, but gets no run support and no wins. Just terrible. He should ask to be traded in my opinion.

Does anyone know why Clemens pitched only 5 innings and 69 pitches?

Houston Astros ace Roger Clemens had to leave Tuesday night's game against the Chicago Cubs after five innings because of tightness in his right groin.

Clemens, who lowered his major league-leading ERA at 1.19, allowed two hits and left with a 2-0 lead. He struck out six and walked one.

He had retired 10 straight batters before walking Enrique Wilson in the fifth inning. Manager Phil Garner and a trainer went immediately to the mound to check on the 42-year-old right-hander. Clemens then retired the side but did not come back out for the bottom of the sixth.

They are in real trouble if he is out for an extended period. Time to unload any talent they have.

Clemens WANTS to be in Houston for more than just BASEBALL

Especially with his son now going to be starting at Texas....there is no way he WANTS to be traded IMHO

Speedster, Clemens has openly said the only team he'd consider a trade to is the Yankees. He's quickly going to realize that pitching well for a team that will toil in mediocrity is nowhere near as fun as playing for the Yankees, who will be competing for the playoffs come fall. My money is on the Yankees trading for him for the stretch run, he'll go there, pitch until the end of the season, then either retire or work some way to get back to the 'Stros. Everyone knows he's playing in Houston for his family, but he's also going to realize that at 42, it's no sure thing that he'll be able to pitch at this level for years to come. He'll take his last crack at glory with the Yankees(who need him desperately), then either come home to Houston next year or retire.

Either way, the guy is amazing. To do what he's doing at his age, remarkable doesn't do it justice.

A 1.19 ERA in this day and age is nothing short of remarkable. Then you factor in his age and this is flat out amazing. If he had any type of run support behind him, he would have 7+ more wins.

I can't stand him...but you have to tip your cap to the guy for what he continues to do. I think he has 2 wins this year that were 1-0 if I am not mistaken.
