Is this just sloppiness or is there something I am missing? Shouldn't the odds match up, it is the same bet when you take the 'YES' right?
These are from Pinnacle for example:

2005 NBA Championship: Odds to Win
San Antonio Spurs -128
Miami Heat +503
Phoenix Suns +1900
Detroit Pistons +217

but then right below it they have:

2005 NBA Championship: Team to win the NBA Championship
Will Heat win the 2005 NBA Championship?
Yes +530 No -585
Will Pistons win the 2005 NBA Championship?
Yes +220 No -245
Will Spurs win the 2005 NBA Championship?
Yes -127 No +111
Will Suns win the 2005 NBA Championship?
Yes +2000 No -2500

I have commented on this a lot. But the basic reason for the discrepencies are sometimes easy to explain.

First books think guys are stupid, so they post numbers the way they want. Second they offer a NO option on on eof the numbers so they ned to get a hold from somewhere. Third, they take some action on the nos or the yeses and have to make slighht adjustnments, and since these are seperate pools they don't move the others on air. (which is hard to understand since they move a lot of numbers on air).

But basically they are the same bet. Obviously taking the best number is smartest.

I saw one last year where Pinnacle actually had a 7-8 cent simultaneous scalp witnin their own numbers. I think it was the SA/LA series. I think LA was +120 to win and SA was -112/-113, I remember I bet it, if I can find the printout I will post it up. So soemtiems you can find problems. I know they let it stand, but moved the line pretty quickly to a push situation.
