Explain in semi-detail how you breakdown your gambling record keeping.

This could include------ by sport.........by day/month/year/career........by casino/sportsbook.........etc., etc.

Thanks,

By the way, it is of my opinion that if you do not keep any of what would at least be considered semi-detailed records of your gambling activity...........you are denying yourself profits from your gambling activities.

mine is very simple. i have one bank account that is used for gambling. every time i collect/pay the local...it goes in/out. evertime i do a neteller transaction, it goes in/out. everytime i play cards i make a withdrawl and most times, a deposit the next day.

not useful for detail but, i know how much i'm up. and that's all that really matters to me.

Isn't this why the books have a wager history tab to click on?

Local's might be different.

This is all theoretical of course as I do not wager illegally, either locally or off shore.

Fascinating detail for one that considers his gambling activity as just a passing "HOBBY".

Go through my books every Sunday night and add up by sport how I did that week at each book and then combine them into a spreadsheet.

I use a spreadsheet. The spreasheet has separate sections going down for each sportsbook. After making a wager I drag the wager confirmation from the web browser (highlight and move with mouse or I copy and paste) to a spreadsheet. At the end of the day, next to each wager I put the win or loss amount. I then confirm at each sportsbook that I have been paid all my winnings.

A formula at the top of the spreadsheet computes the total loss or winnings for the day. I put that amount in the far left column on the spreadsheet next to the day.

I keep a very detailed spreadsheet. Page one is wagers with a lot of the same data that InSpades describes. Date, league, wager details. I have a lot of little codes I've developed.

I also categorize bets into types (gambling-handicapping, gambling-mathematical, arbs, sides/middles, bonuses - I have single character codes for each). I also have fields for start time and rotation number (which is handy for ncaab and ncaaf) and also a column for who I'm cheering for. I don't know if that sounds funny but I place a lot of bets and can't always remember.

I have codes for all the many books I use. For my situation, it's important to follow-up that everything has been graded properly. There's too much going on to remember everything.

The next page is for banking. Deposits/withdrawals, monthly tracking of profits.

And I've got a number of pages for ongoing research and then some archives of bets and banking from past years. It is a big, extremely important file that I wouldn't want to lose and I e-mail copies every week to two different associates as disaster insurance.

I've been trying to find a program to track wagers and crunch all the associated numbers, dates, ammounts, etc. for some time. My own attempt at creating an Excel spreadsheet was a joke.
I'd love to find an existing Excel template that was completed and ready for daily input.

I recently started using Wagerstation. It's an excellent program and it tracks everything. Prior to that, I was using spreadsheets like everyone else. Wagerstation puts it all in one place.

CVS, 5 subject notebook, 200 sheets, college ruled .Handwrite all my wagers and have them all seperated by sportsbook. Doesn't take too long to go through a book and then start over with a new one.Been doing it the same way year after year after year.

I developed some software of my own that I use to keep track of my bets. I enter every bet and classify it by book, sport, type, etc. I try to reconcile my numbers versus the books' numbers every day if at all possible.
