I'm really looking to delve into this and was wondering if someone knows the link to the new WSEX exchange? I had checked it out before and the 2% commission was attractive. Are there other exchanges out there with a similar deal (and that are reputable)?

Any advice about going forward with this is appreciated as well. Thanks

Haven't opened an account yet but have looked from time to time and found value.

Also 2% commission on baseball at https://www.betonbet.net/secure/.

Tradesports has a fixed 4 cent commission for a trade (buy or sell) on a $10 contract. If you buy at $5 (+100) the commission is 1.6%. There is no commission if you are a market maker (i.e. your offer is not immediately accepted).

Hope this helps.

bhg,

You should check out www.betfair.com - the largest betting exchange in the world. Commision starts at 5% which is a bit too much though.

Another great exchange is www.betdaq.com. Commision starts at 3% on net winnings.

If you're into soccer or horse racing, these are the places to be. US sports probably get more action elsewhere.

Thanks for the links - good information all around.

I stumbled onto www.bettson.com last night - another exchange in England it would seem.

Is there a SBR equivalent for these exchanges?

BHG,

Betfair is simply the world's biggest exchange with probably 90% of that market. They're the only exchange which reported a profit, over 10 milliion pound, in 2004.

Betdaq is based in Ireland and despite being a much smaller operation, it's very safe as the owner's wealth ( Dermot Desmond ) is estimated at 1.2 billion euro.
The guy differently from the owner of Mansion acknowledged his involvment in the company.
Betdaq is also the only betting company which posted a 10 million bond with a bank.

Betsson is oriented to the Scandinavian market and is owned by a casino company, Cherryforetagen, which is a Swedish public company.
