* The 4th Annual Reggae in the Desert Festival is being
held on June 18 at the Clark County Amphitheater,
500 S Grand Central Pkwy., Las Vegas. Doors open
at 5p. Performers include Sister Carol; Tippa Irie, and
The Toasters. The Festival offers food / beverage and
Caribbean craft sales. Tickets are $16 in advance,
$20 at the gate.
* So you want to learn how to become a great Chef?
Beginning in June, the five Las Vegas Wolfgang Puck's
Executive Chefs will share their cooking secrets to the
public. Cost to participate is $45 and you can reserve
a seat by calling Spago's at 702-369-0360.
* Complementary tickets to "Beyond the Red" performed
by Cedar Lake Ensemble, the contemporary ballet
company is coming to Las Vegas May 28, 29, 31, 8p
performances at the Judy Bayley Theatre at UNLV.

* Teatro Euro Bar inside the MGM Grand Casino presents
a red-hot after hours evening with the highly anticipated
"House of Love," launching Thursday, May 26 beginning

first 100 people through the door an exclusive "House of
Love" CD by DJ Digital Boy.
* Aladdin Theatre will be the place for the upcoming concert
of the rock group Journey. Tickets are priced at $35-$65
for the August 5 performance. Tickets go on sale May 27
at the Aladdin Casino.
* The Mirage Casino announces two upcoming great performers.
First, Brad Garrett, is performing on Friday, August 5, at 9p
and Saturday, August 6, at 10:30p, tickets are $50. Second is
Dana Carvey with tickets priced at $70 for the shows, Friday,
September 2 at 9p, Saturday, September 3, at 10:30p,
Sunday, September 4 at 10:30p.
* Rumor about to become fact. The Jaguars Gentlemen's
Club is about to be changed into the NYC strip club Scores
first western expansion. Scores will attempt to bring back
the local market that has been driven away. Good Luck.
* As the takeover of MGM Grand continues the fallout of
senior staff at the Mandalay Bay seem to be disappearing
almost daily. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of new
faces. I guess this qualifies for not a smooth employee
transition for the takeover.
* Congratulations to OPM Nightclub for celebrating their
2-year anniversary this past Thursday.
* Keeping with the Las Vegas tradition of being the biggest
and the best, the city now has one more record to its
credits. The birthday cake for the Las Vegas Centennial
celebration measured 102 feet long by 52 feet wide and
20 inches high. This 130,000 pound cake was created
by 600 volunteers and is now the world record for Largest
Birthday Cake.
* The unveiling of the newest tourist transportation occurred
today with the London Transport Corporation's double-decker
bus. The five 80-seat red double-decker buses will begin
full scale service in July 2005. Service area will be from
downtown Las Vegas to the South Strip area.
* Golf Expo 2005 will be held at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club
this weekend, May 29 from 10a until 6p. Admission is
complementary to the public.
* Stardust Casino offers a newest version of blackjack.
"Casino Surrender" is a Blackjack winning option that
forces the casino to surrender, making a player an
automatic winner. When playing Casino Surrender,
normal Blackjack rules apply but with an additional
winning option. That option applies when: a player is
dealt a two-card 20 and the dealer's up card is a 10-value
card and the dealer does not have Blackjack; that player
now has the winning option to force the casino to surrender
and automatically win by keeping the original bet and in
addition, winning half the amount of the original bet.
