Seems like there's a disproportionate number of pathetic offensive baseball teams this year...anyone else noticing this disturbing trend?
I mean there are a good number of teams -- offhand and without consulting stats, I'd say Seattle, Washington, Colorado (on the road), Oakland, Cleveland, Kansas City, Anaheim, San Francisco, Houston, the Cubs, even LA -- where if I'm on them and they're down even 2 or 3 runs, I consider the game OVER. I mean literally DONE...whether it's the first inning or the 9th, these teams are so inept offensively that they're incapable of overcoming even moderate deficits early in the game.
That's 11 teams I rattled off. 11 out of 30. Those are the 11 that are completely inept and unable to score runs. Then there are some others (Detroit, Tampa, Toronto, etc.) that ain't exactly offensive powerhouses either.
Do you think it's all steroids? What's the reason for SO many offensively challenged teams? Will it turn around when the weather gets warmer?
