The school systems in this country started going to hell when the ACLU jumped on corporal punishment. Bust their little asses and they will pay attention. I never understood suspending a kid who didn't want to be in school anyways. It's like " let me get this straight, I act like an ******* and I don't have to come to school for 3 days "... and people wonder why kids are calling the teacher a bit*ch in class..... f*cking idiots.
Did you know that spanking a child on the rear with a belt and leaving any size/type of bruise/welt at all can land ya in jail here in Indiana. Suppose to use a timeout instead. 
Ah well, my dad beat me good on days where i fucked up. I feel a better person for it today.

My father did 33 years in education, coach, teacher, principal and finally supt of schools in a small Mo district. And he could swing a board like a champ. You never heard a student cuss a teacher or take a swing at a teacher. why not? Cause they didn't want that ass whipping. BTW... he got me once each of my 4 years... and he got the supt's kid too while he was prinicpal. But he was fair, white, black, hispanice, it didn't matter. Everyone got treated the same. Fairly. But he's the first to admit he'd be in jail today with the attitude of our courts and lazy ass parents. And people wonder why our schools are going to hell in a hand basket. Kid messes up, they send him home. How in the hell is he going to learn anything at home? Bust his, or her, ass and send them back to class where they might learn something so they can contribute to society later.
And one more thing, he was an outstanding educator. In fact, he was honored by the state of Mo as such when retired.

I used to get the belt from the old man on very very rare occasions. Very effective if not overdone. Never foret when I was about 6 or 7 and did something bad and Puff the Magic Dragon was coming on soon. My dad said I could either not watch it or take the belt. I took the belt and laughed like it didnt hurt. That wasn't a good idea. The next one hurt bad.

My wife was a teacher for 3 years and quit...She got so tired of having to correct and be the class cop, that she gave it up. She said that she spent about 40 min. of a class correcting and policing and about 10 min of teaching.
And this was kids from ages 8-12 years old. And when she would have parent teacher conferences, the parents could not believe there little angel would do things like that.
