Prior Breaks Pitching Arm

Wrigley Field's worst fears were confirmed Friday night. Sources tell ESPN that an MRI revealed a "slight fracture" in Mark Prior's pitching elbow after he was struck by a line drive in the Cubs' 10-3 win over the Rockies.

If he's out for the year then the Cubs are dead. Without much of any doubt. Prior is one of the best pitchers in baseball. This year:

Cubs in Prior's game: 7-2
Cubs in all other games: 15-22

Almost 1/3 of their wins in less than 1/5 of their games. Looking similar to 2003 when he also had a very high %. Like 23-7 or something.

You can't replace a Mark Prior. Whoever they replace him with you'd be happy to go .500. Say 12-12. Prior would be probably be around 17-7. If Prior's out for the season, that's 5 games the Cubs don't have to spare.
