He really wasn't pitching that well before going on th DL, but at least it isn't an injury that will affect his confidence/physical ability. It was basically an ear infection. I hear he's doing f. Early this week he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings in an extended spring training game. The runs he gave up were in the first two innings, which is typically when he struggles(if at all). Once he gets past there, he sets the cruise and mows 'em down.

Ben Sheets is ready to return to the majors for the first time in two years.
Capping a long comeback from elbow surgery, the former Milwaukee ace, who also has pitched for the A's, will start for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday against the New York Mets.
"Everything's working," Sheets said Thursday. "Everything's feeling great. I've been throwing the ball good. Keep making good pitches, you'll get outs."
The Braves will make a roster move before Sheets' first big league start since he and Oakland lost 2-1 to Boston on July 19, 2010.
After that start, Sheets landed on the disabled list for the seventh time in his career, undergoing surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon and torn elbow ligament.
Atlanta signed Sheets, who turns 34 next Wednesday, to a minor league contract on July 1.
In eight seasons with Milwaukee and one with the A's, the right-hander is 90-92 with a 3.79 ERA in 241 career starts.
A's: A longtime friend of Coco Crisp was convicted of 14 counts of fraud and identity theft in Los Angeles for running up about $30,000 on the A's outfielder's credit card without his permission.
Marcus Andrews, 32, of Inglewood was found guilty of multiple counts of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft during a bench trial, authorities said. Andrews faces two to 20 years in prison when he's expected to be sentenced Aug. 20.

Gee is scheduled for right shoulder surgery that is likely to sideline him for the rest of the season.
The team said Gee will have surgery Friday in St. Louis to replace a portion of damaged artery.
