Ben Sheets is ready to return to the majors for the first time in two years.
Capping a long comeback from elbow surgery, the former Milwaukee ace, who also has pitched for the A's, will start for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday against the New York Mets.
"Everything's working," Sheets said Thursday. "Everything's feeling great. I've been throwing the ball good. Keep making good pitches, you'll get outs."
The Braves will make a roster move before Sheets' first big league start since he and Oakland lost 2-1 to Boston on July 19, 2010.
After that start, Sheets landed on the disabled list for the seventh time in his career, undergoing surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon and torn elbow ligament.
Atlanta signed Sheets, who turns 34 next Wednesday, to a minor league contract on July 1.
In eight seasons with Milwaukee and one with the A's, the right-hander is 90-92 with a 3.79 ERA in 241 career starts.
A's: A longtime friend of Coco Crisp was convicted of 14 counts of fraud and identity theft in Los Angeles for running up about $30,000 on the A's outfielder's credit card without his permission.
Marcus Andrews, 32, of Inglewood was found guilty of multiple counts of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft during a bench trial, authorities said. Andrews faces two to 20 years in prison when he's expected to be sentenced Aug. 20.
Mets: Pitcher Dillon

Gee is scheduled for right shoulder surgery that is likely to sideline him for the rest of the season.
The team said Gee will have surgery Friday in St. Louis to replace a portion of damaged artery.
Red Sox: Outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury could come off the disabled list and rejoin the team on Friday. Ellsbury has been out since hurting his right shoulder on April 13.
Blue Jays: First baseman Edwin Encarnacion has signed a three-year contract that begins next season. The $27 million deal includes a $10 million club option for the 2016 season. The 29-year-old Dominican native is batting .295 with 23 home runs and 58 RBIs.
Rangers: The team's contract with Dominican outfielder Jairo Beras was approved by Major League Baseball, which then suspended the 17-year-old player for providing a false date of birth. Beras' deal reached in March included a $4.5 million signing bonus, but there were then questions about his age and whether he was actually 17 and old enough to sign with a team.
Indians: Pitcher Nick Hagadone will be out at least two months after having surgery to fix a broken left arm the team says he injured in frustration.
Yankees: Reggie Jackson says he made a mistake by disparaging specific players in recent remarks. The Yankees released a statement from Jackson. Jackson told Sports Illustrated that some of Alex Rodriguez's statistics were tainted by his admitted use for performance-enhancing drugs.
