Do they get to keep all of the tip?

I would think if so, it would be a big part of their income...just a guess , I think they probably have to split it with other casino workers...anyone know for sure?

most casino's pool it with the other dealers. I remember the horseshoe years ago he workers kept there own tips but now most of the casino's split them up with other dealers. Expect for poker dealers I believe they get to keep it to themselves.

Just had a conversation the other night with a dealer at Foxwoods...I don't know if he was bullshitting me or not, but he said they made $4.50 an hour, and they split the tips....I would guess thats a buck a hand, so that could be around 15-30 an hr.

They split tips because some guys work shitty shifts and I imagine its a tad slow in the tip department when the blue hairs come in to play in am.

Do they have to give any of it to , other casino employees, like cocktail waitresses, or other employees who aren't in tipping type jobs?

It still seems it would be a big part of their income...a couple high rollers a day win big and those tips would really add up , I would think?

Okay, so MOST of their income is made on tips...I didn't realize that.

Race and sportsbook employees pool their small amount of tips and usually pay them on a weekly or monthly basis.

When I worked at the Castaways, I was pulling down around $30 a month on average.......:):)

they would have to split them...think about the tips at the $5 blackjack table compared to the tips at the $100 blackjack table.

And from Fishheads post it doesn't look like tips were a big part of the income..which is it? Good point Blue, I was thinking maybe they rotated the table size.

Its true most dealers make min wage the tips amount for the rest. Dealers don't pool tips with other workers like cocktails waitresses because in most places cocktail waitresses are unionized and dealers are not. On the flip side to blue's comment....the 5 dollar table may be packed but the 100 dollar table may be a ghost town for a couple of hours so that plays a role in it as well

My cousin and his wife are both dealers. She brings in around 80K/yr at Hard Rock and he does about 70K at Texas Station. Not bad $$$.

My cousin was a dealer at the local casino boat when it first opened, she made 4.25/hour + tips.....all the table dealers pooled their tips, the waitresses pooled thier tips, and slot attendants pooled their tips......

she said when it first opened she was averaging about 14-15.00 and hour, a little more if they had a high roller in on the weekend or something....after being open a while she said it slipped to about 13.00/hour on a reg basis......but in this area, thats pretty good money....we arent in a NewYork/LA kind of market.......

THERE are some great jobs out there, I've been a casino dealer for 15 years now:

From thedealersnews.com

Last month I reported that Mandalay Bay was probably the second best toke job in town. Well, I think the correct order would be, Caesars first ($93K), Bellagio second ($89K) and Mandalay third ($80K).

Not too shabby for playing a game all day. BJ and Dice Roullette, and carnival games usually all pool together, BACC and POKER go for their own.

from each dollar that is given as a tip, each dealer probably makes a fifteeith of a penny.
