The sports betting calendar provides many windows of opportunity to turn a profit. We are currently in the midst of one such window. Many bettors won't even think much about wagering on baseball until the NBA playoffs are done. Yet, this time of year presents an ideal opportunity to strike for the astute bettor.

Situational stats start to become more relevent around the 1st of June in my experience. While he got hit today (May) a guy to watch in June is Yankee righthander Carl Pavano - last season he had a great June going 5-0 with a 1.87 ERA in 5 starts.

I don't think I could have disagreed more with the article.

The guys I know beating baseball beat it in April and May, when they have done the homework knowing the pitchers, and how they are this year. Also, the bookmaker is a little distracted by NBA and Hockey.

They take off June-August, when the lines are tight, and then often come back in during September when football distracts everyone.

Bill said the bookmaker is distracted. By What?? American Idol? The Shield? The INdy 500? WNBA? The NHL strike?

Sorry to rail, Bill does a solid job in his writing, but this one made no sense to me.

The wiseguys will take their break at the All Star.

Most usually have then, for some sun, fun, fishing, and golfing..then back into play for the fall schedules.

And though involved, the winners are nowhere near last summer's runaway clip, as MLB last April-May were of legendary record for the players?

Games of line movement interest Tuesday..Oakland went to 20-2 at home last 22 vs TB, as the home team is now 14-3 L17 in series..Cubs win 2nd straight at LA..KC and Greinke finally cashed a ticket last night..grudge-matcher rival Clev wins over Minn in yet another one run game and under..Phils off nice triple 1st place roadie stretch, open monster homestand with winning play for 10 to 15 cent drift drivers..Reds rally to get place money, but no gold..also the Padres, ChiSox, and Rangers keep rolling.

Even with action to MLB and NBA, today, I'd rather some Bravo or A&E.
