I think Shrink is a pretty rare breed in many facets. I highly doubt there would be anyone that comes from the same mold as Shrink. Certainly there will be innovative site owners and new sites as the industry continues to grow, but I can't see anyone with his gambling experience and contacts within the industry building anything like what he has built here.

There will be too much competition, similar to the sportsbook industry itself, making it nearly impossible to start from scratch and compete with the big boys (The Prescription, Major Wager, and Gambling 911).

Shrink has accomplished a great deal and has built a site here that he can be proud of. I am sure there are things that he has done that he regrets (as has everyone in life), but I think if this site got half the credit for everything it has done right, it would far outweigh every thing that could ever be construed as questionable.

Congrats to you Shrink! You have built an amazing site and reputation online. Now give me "The Player's" picks. :finger:

It's kind of like the whole "Will there be another Michael Jordan" question. Who thought there would be a second coming in lebron james and/or dwayne wade (maybe). I think we will see someone emerge in the next 10 years. I am sure that person is planning is as we speak.

Some of you give me way too much credit. But, thank you so much for comparing me to Michael Jordan for a change instead of George Steinbrenner...

I have been blessed along the way with many former employees who have gone forward now to bigger and better careers...

Some who used to work here that immediately come to mind are my previous WEB GEEKS & DESIGNERS (specifically PAYTON & B), who had to put up with me and my tantrums, STING, & THE MAJOR...

Also, don't ever kid yourselves about something I know from experience. There are thousands of people with much sharper minds than I have who watch this place and other venues, thinking of ways to improve on this foundation...

While there may not be another SHRINK per say, I'd be willing to bet that someone else comes along with a new identity (no pun intended), that will make head ways in this industry and probably put me to shame...

One of the reasons I believe I have been fortunate is that I am constantly looking in the REAR VIEW MIRROR and I always feel that the competition is tail gaiting me...

I owe so much to the sports books who trusted me in the pioneer days and even today, to allow my presence amongst them while at their offices and at social gatherings...

Lastly, without the quality of posters that have been a part of our community, this site would not be amongst the leaders in this industry.

The General, Wilheim, Journeyman, Bucsfan, Fishhead, Dante, Lander and many others in the Board room work so very hard each and every day to help make this place a better one for you gamblers...

Thanks again for the kind words,

THE SHRINK

I see Shrink more like the Jon Koncak of the offshore world.

Had to look this one up Judge...:lolBIG:

Jon Koncak with the Hawks, without question -- but for reasons beyond Koncak's limited on-court contribution. Unbelievably, Koncak was offerred more money than Michael Jordan was earning. That single signing help throw the entire NBA salary scale out of whack, and through raised ticket prices and salary cap debacles, NBA fans have been suffering ever since.

Jon Kontract was by far and away the worst free agent signing ever. The Kak did nothing for the Hawks but roam the perimiter looking for a shot that wasn't even his. Please don't make me mention his defense or rebounding either. Just mentioning his name can make a Hawks fan cringe. On the upside, he did pave the way for legendary white stiffs like Matt Geiger, Jim McIllvaine, Shawn Bradley, and now Todd MacColluch to recieve contacts they should only dream about.

The guys was a stud, hell he averaged 4.5 points a game. Great pick up by Atlanta. Actually that was the era when the NBA was throwing sick money at big slow white dudes. Joe Klein also come to mind.

Please do me a favor and NEVER post past first round draft choices in the NBA. You would think with all of the lottery experience my Clippers have, they could have gotten one draft right.

Sorry Clip

This must have been one of your all time favs

1994 7. Lamond Murray California LA Clippers:icon_conf

I'm not even sure that is in the top 3 of our worst picks:

1989 #2 Danny Ferry
1990 #8 Bo Kimble
1998 #1 Michael Olowokandi

There are many more that I left off the list that may even be worse than Lamond Murray.

1998...we take Michael Olowokandi with the 1st overall pick. Here is who went in the top 10 after our pick:

Mike Bibby
Vince Carter
Dirk Nowitzki
Paul Pierce

Boy did we get a steal there...

1996...we take Lorenzen Wright at #7. Good thing we passed on these guys who went after him:

Kobe Bryant
Pedrag Stojakovich
Steve Nash
Jermaine O'Neal

1995...we take Antonio McDyess #2. Then we trade him for Brent Barry and Rodney Rogers. Thank God we took McDyess at #2 instead of Rasheed Wallace or Kevin Garnett who followed our pick.

1994...we take Lamond Murray at #7. This actually turns out to be a decent pick as no one after him really made it other than Eddie Jones.

1992...we take Randy Woods at #16 and get another steal in Elmore Spencer at #25. :icon_conf

Thanks Dicky for ruining my weekend. :toast:
