Free time would likely be on video games. That's about where I was before I found the forums.

Why would you even suggest such a thing?!?!?!?

Do you hate us all? Do you have a death wish? Is this some kind of self-loathing?

Geeeees ...

I'm pretty sure I'd be :drink: all the time.

I beg to differ. Newsgroups have been around since the beginning of the net. I started reading and posting on newsgroups in 1979, over 25 years ago, and they were not new then.

Of course there are differences. There is no ownership (except for the net-gods, who determine policy) and the newsreaders are not as sophisticated as HTML transferred web pages. However as a meeting place for sigs (special interest groups) they serve the same purpose.

Back in the day, when there were no pc's, no forums, no Don Best, the tickets were handwritten. You spent more facetime with other degenerates, and swapped war stoires, bad beats and current streaks. I once bet a fine classy blonde lady would pick her nose on MNF. Amazingly she did. Stood in line for Baskin Robbin number to get first crack at openers. Got to know all the other bettors, and all of the clerks and managers. Cyberspace depersonalizes everything. Only thing I have left is my fishing. It went from fun to a cutthroat business. Luckily I am trained there. This is the only forum I post at. And I hop away quite often. Even though I am known as a valued poster, this is not quite who I am. I prefer facetime.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:
