if your military or know someone currently in the navy down here the 32nd street naval station and NAS north island has very low priced tix. also on padres.com you can log onto market place and buy tix from season ticket holders who dont want to use thier tickets for those games. seattle isnt a strong draw so you should have no problems.im may go tho cuz im a mariner and padre fan. petco is an awesome park and the clubs around the park are a must after the games. if i think of anything else i will let you know. the marine base at miramar and camp pendleton in oceanside can get you great prices to. get the general to hook ya up hes a former marine.semper fi general.:103631605

roxy- I'm going to the beach for a few days and wanted to take my son to our first game at Petco Park. You seem to know the park and the ticket situation pretty well. How are those Toyota Terrace Level seats? I can get two tickets in Section 213, Row 1. Hows the view from there and are those seats worth spending the extra money? Thanks.

toyota terrace rocks soccerbob! its a great time out there! there were problems last year out there that were corrected during the winter. for 1 everyone was pissed you couldnt see the big scoreboard. so they added another that the fans sitting out there can see. they moved fences and made alot of great changes.and in that area is the park in the park which is a gathering place for familys with food and live bands before the games. are you in sd or will you be visiting? i have ideas if your visiting before the game.~RG

Redeye,

I might have an extra ticket myself, as I might be out of town that weekend. However, the best place to go is padres.com and click on Padres marketplace. This is where season ticket holders such as myself put tickets up for sale that they can't use.

Roxy's repsonse leads me to believe she was a bit confused by your question. The Toyota Terrace seats are behind the plate above the field boxes and field reserved seats. Tons of foul balls are hit up there, but other than that, I haven't figured out why they are the most expensive seats in the house. I would say NOT worth the extra $$$. If you don't want to sit in a field box on top of the plate or dugout, I would recommend for the best VALUE the left or right field lower box seats. These are right on top of the fence which is low. If you can get a 1st or 2nd row seat on top of the fence you will very much feel part of the action.
Hope this helps.

i have been a few games at Petco

nice looking place

BUT

i can't believe how a nice new place like that can have just about EVERY SINGLE SEAT in the park be somewhat of an obstructed view. i went to a game and sat down the LF line last season.

let's see - we were blocked from seeing the last 10 feet of the LF wall as well as about the last 20+ feet of the LF line. we couldn't see the scoreboard at all. i can't believe how AWFUL the design of the place is. HOW can you build a place like this and not think about seating locations and all

Petco - VERY OVERRATED

and don't even get me started on parking :hump: :hump: :hump:

the ONLY reason i can think of to go to a game at Petco is if i was seated next to - or even sharing a seat with Roxy :103631605 other than that - PASS!

winky alot of those problems have been corrected. i can tell you what went wrong.after the ballpark project was approved by the voters the legal hassles began. padre management went to thier current stars in 1998 for ideas about what they wanted in a new park. no one expected a 4 year delay by being in the courtrooms fighting useless lawsuits. well they asked tony gwynn, ken caminiti, steve finley...none of which stayed much longer and tony retired. cammy and finley moved on. but the ball park planners were theo epstein and larry lucchino.both moved on to boston and no body bothered to revisit the blueprints! the park was built upon player specifications who were no longer here. the current make up of the team is wrong for cavernous petco.once a week a padre rep is on the radio taking suggestions for improvements and improvements are made.get to a game winky you wont be disappointed:103631605 parking does suck but park at a trolley stop and ride right to petco for $2. its a great outting.,~RG

i have a friend who works for the ANAHEIM angels and last year we went to a game and we got seats about 35 rows off the field - and 3rd base was like directly in front of us - so you have some idea where we sat. again - parts of the place were obstructed. we want to go back this year but i can't for i have every weekend betweeen now and labor day filled with either hoops games or going to vegas or san jose (ca) with the exception of july 4 - and i believe the padres are out of town that weekend. and come september - NO WAY i am going to a game and missing CFB or NFL. so come 2006 i will try and catch a game and see how right you are for the drive to SD - while it can be frustrating with tons of traffic - it is also a gorgeous 90-ish mile drive scenery wise w/the exception of the "2 tits" at San Onofre (is your bra size about the same?). i have heard about the trolley and might consider that - either that or park at your place and have you drive me :lolBIG:
