Attention Sherman.....

Sherm, we appreciate your generosity in wanting to offer our posters a free contest on your behalf, however, we DO NOT allow contests on our board by Non-employees, or Non-sponsors.....

If u wish to run a contest like that, u would need to get permission from Rx Ownership before doing it....

I hope u understand the position it puts us in, if someone wins, then has trouble collecting......

Its along the same lines as posters borrowing/loaning money to each other, then they want to come here to complain about it....Well that is something they did on their own....

If they enter a contest that was posted on OUR BOARDS, and are not able to collect, or have a problem, they are going to blame us, or expect us to fix it...And this contest had NOTHING to do with us....

So please understand, this had nothing to do with you, but with the precedent that we do not allow NON RX/RX ADVERTISER sponsored contests on our boards, without prior approval/permission by ownership...

Atleast we have a chance in contests like Dante's and Journeyman's

Rio's contests are all luck and near impossible. Ya people win but they are totally unfair. Why didnt I win anything last night for hitting 7 out of 8 when the prior night they were giving away 600 bucks for hitting 6?

Can't beleive you still give these guys free publicity. Posters are better off playing the lottery.

I don't know what is confusing about what I said. Those rio contests are complete crapshoots. Your contests as well as journeys in the past have atleast been easy for posters. Rio's props like: Who scores first, last, will so and so make first shot.. I mean who the f could know that? Just flip a coin like I said last night.

Not only that but like I said, I hit 7 out of 8 last night and win nothing, while the day before rio was giving out 600.00 to people who hit a 6 prop. Does that sound fair to you?

I disagree, handicapping plays a role in many of the props.

Because in the past this has subjected the RX to nothing but trouble.

The RX management feels they have very little to gain, if anything, in having regular posters offer contests that involve CASH.

I happen to totally agree with their stance.

BUCSFAN -- with all due respect, this reasoning makes no sense whatsoever & is completely asanine. You could have said something like "The RX will not allow contests unless The RX receives some type of benefit (i.e. advertising revenue from the sponsor)."

By using your reasoning, this is like saying that you can go to the phone company to complain that your buddy didn't pay off a loan that you gave him via a phone conversation. Or that the postman owes you a line of credit because he delivered a credit card solicitation to you that was subsequently declined. Or that Microsoft owes you money that a book stiffed you on because you set up the offshore account through your MSN Hotmail account. Catch my point?

I do realize that The RX can do whatever they wish with this forum, but just thought I'd point out how dumb this line of reasoning sounds.

I think it makes plenty of sense. When someone gets ripped off on here, they're going to want RX to fix it. So to keep this from happening, they will just not allow it. You've got 41 posts on here so obviously you haven't seen some of the crap that goes on.

Well that is your opinion, the 2 things have NOTHING to do with each other...

This is not the phone company, its an internet forum where people are CONSTANTLY holding us responsible for what is posted here....When something bad happens, we get blasted everywhere saying "we supported them' etc....But when we put a stop to things we have no "quality control" over, then we get blasted too....

its all good, like u said, we have a right to do whatever we wish, and we wish that posters and non-advertisers not use our forums for contests...

Amazing that Sherman was the one who started this, and seems to understand this was NO SHOT at him, and is fine with our decision...

As for baseball guy, feel free NOT to enter any rio free contests in the future if u feel they are unfair....I would guess there are 100+ other posters that feel any shot at 2000.00 for NOTHING is quite Fair......

Ok dude, first of all lose the attitude. I was not directing my comments to you but to rio. I understand you are a moderator here but that doesnt give you the right to rail into me.

The entering for nothing so don't complain logic is twisted. I can sign up for hundreds of casinos on the internet for free and most offer free money no deposit required. Don't make it like Rio is the only site in the world offering people something for nothing. In reality I feel like Rio is just teasing people with their contests. Hitting an 8 prop is tough enough, let alone some of the props having questions like "which team will score first". Might as well say how many times is a fan going to fart. Who would be able to predict something like that?

Also my point was not really having to do with the props, but how they do the contests. They offer a 6 prop one night for 600 then an 8 prop for 2000. Although when someone hits 7/8 they get nothing. In the end it just gives them free advertising and people false hope which in my opinion is worse than any contest Sherman could offer.

Do you recall what poster 'Assassin' did last year in one of these free shot contests? He won a serious amount of cash from Rio.
