A friend and fellow Red Sox fan told me at lunch today he has been hearing a rumor of Adam Dunn coming to the Sox to play 1B.....anyone heard of this rumor?

Will be in attendence for the World Series rematch next Monday night. I think Mulder will be on the mound...not sure who goin for Sox. Probably whoever starts tonight.

I think it sounds like a typical Red Sox Nation scenario...hear a small statement & run with it as rumor, lol

I think he may be basing this on Peter Gammons saying last week...The Sox would try to get someone like Dunn...but he said it in a sense of using Dunn as an example (a better hitting 1st basemen than Millar)...nothing factual.

But, imo...they wouldnt go after a player like Dunn...who wouldnt use the dimensions of Fenway to his advantage. But if they are willing to give up a quality prospect like Ramirez, then they'll go strong after a player like Sean Casey or Lyle Overbay...Those would by my likely predictions.
