Poppovich always had Tim Duncan and David Robinson early on so it's hard to tell how he is as a coach as it is with Phil Jackson since NBA is a star driven league. Herm Edwards has never won anything but is a good coach except for when he runs the ball conservatively against San Diego and forces a below average kicker to have to hit a 45 yarder on a bad field to win.

Aquatic: Let me get out my crystal ball, okay I see some rings coming the Jets' way and all his past will be forgotten! ( I just like the way he always steps up and takes responsibility for his mistakes)

Herm Edwards

He's best known as a coach for his press conference tirade phrase of "We Play To Win The Game".

Often used on PTI.

Any coach who has to hire an assistant to help him figure out when to call a timeout can't be a top coach, so Herm Edwards is out. And I say Bobby Cox is out because he wouldn't have had so much success without Leo Mazzone. I say:

MLB: Scioscia - to win a world series with the crap pitching he had that year was amazing

NBA: Popovich - the Spurs have been the best franchise in the NBA for a while now. Based on the past year only I would say Scott Skiles.

NFL: Belichick - how could you pick anyone else?

Dang it Slim...you beat me to it! Carlisle is hands down the best NBA coach.

NFL - Belichik
NBA - Carlisle
MLB - Torre

NFL: Belichik
I don't think anything even needs to be said here. In the game today with free agency, it is mind boggling how this team has done under his leadership. A defensive genius.

NBA: Carlisle
There is no other coach in the NBA that could lose his top 3 players for an extended period of time and still make the playoffs. None...and the fact that he never once complained about the hand he was dealt shows his class.

MLB: Torre
I know I will catch a lot of flack for the Torre pick, but in my opinion he does an incredible job. Not many people could handle the rants and raves from Steinbrenner, let alone the media pressure. He has the best talent, no doubt about that. But talent doesn't always win out in pro sports. He does a great job of blending personalities and making his team successful.

I hate the Yankees...but I respect Torre and what he has done with a team that is suppose to win every year. Not many could take the pressure that comes along with being the Yankees manager. His results have been impressive to say the least.

Reggie Miller and Eastern Conference competition had as much to do with Indiana playing just above .500 and making the playoffs as Carlisle did. Picking up Dale Davis after the suspensions with a roster exemption also helped. He's also the first coach I can remember who got a T for not having any timeouts left at the 4 minute mark mandatory tv time out that teams automatically get accessed during the Piston series. Larry Brown won it all with Carlisles team the following year. George Karl turning around Denver was as good of a coaching this year in the NBA playing mostly the West.

One of the dumbest posts I have ever seen on here. For one, that time out situation was completely irrelevant as it was a 20 point game, for two the guy did an amazing job guiding the very low talent Pistons to the most wins in the east. And the third and most ridiculous comment, how in the hell can you possibly say Brown won with Carlisles team the following year? That obviously says something about your knowledge of the situation. Rasheed Wallace is HUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEE part of the equation for them. He was nowhere near Detroit when Carlisle was there. Have a clue before you pipe up. By the way, they were playing without Tinsley, JO and Artest during the playoff run, oh but your right Dale Davis is a superstar and saved them. He is way better than Rasheed Wallace aparently in your view. Wow still cannot get over what a bunch of nonsense your post is. Lol!!

And you even live nearby the situation and you still don't have a clue. Unbelievable.
