He means the deal is struck for next season!

Then again, no one really cares either way whether a deal was struck or not

There supposed to be a real deal this time.

I'm not even a real puck fan.

Deal may be Done

Strong rumors circulating that this may be over...stay tuned

The Shadow is reporting that both sides have agreed to a deal and today and tomorrow is to finalise the CBA, cross the T's and dot the I's. Announcement is imminent, perhaps as early as tomorrow night.

Other sources as well..

people in hockey are still concerned that a monkey wrench could be thrown into this...it isn't over until the whole thing is signed...it could still go south...A source just said, "People still are fearful of certain people."

stay tuned

i hope this is true for this time of year i love plopping down in front of the TV around 4P and watching 5-6 hours of playoff hockey.

the stanley cup playoffs are the VERY BEST playoffs of ANY sport out there and to miss this time of year is killing me

it is also hugely profitable because the books are still pretty much clueless when it comes time to book the NHL and it is easy pickens from them if you know what you are doing - for they sure as hell don't

Nothing better than watching a triple header in NHL playoffs perfect amount of time to polish off a couple dozen beer.

very refreshing to see an American poster truly understand the drama and excitement of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. No sport can top the excitement of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I guess you missed reading the post that ESPN has declined to pick up hockey for next season. I guess you will paying the NHL package because you sure won't get the games for free.

TORONTO (AP) -- The NHL and the players' association held small-group discussions for nine hours Wednesday, again working on a review of revenue measurement and financial reporting issues.

The meetings in an attempt to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement will continue with a larger group Thursday as the sides try to find common ground on team revenues and how to associate them to a salary cap.

Both sides have agreed that a salary cap model with an upper and lower limit will be the centerpiece of a new agreement, but have labored through the financial review in order to tie revenues to the moving cap figure.

ESPN declined to pick up its option, but they will almost surely pick up hockey at a reduced price if there is a season. They just are asking for the discount you would have to expect having a year off. ESPN regular season coverage sucks mostly anyways, who wants to watch the Rangers and Red Wings non-stop?

Way the NBA is talking the NHL might have the stage to itself for quite some time. Would figure the NBA would go on strike, fits right into form. My hockey team has its best season ever with a mostly young squad, then they go on strike. Now my NBA team has a great season with lots of promise and what do you know, strike talk is brewing.
