Dodgers were the Major play and it fell short. Sorry. The Parlay started out good until around 9:30pm when the Marlins were touched by Ward's 2run job & the Yanks let the Royals go on top for good. The past is a learning experience so today we learned "Losing Suks." Now onto what will be a profitable night.
ATLANTA BRAVES - 142 : Smoltz on the mound vs. The Nats, former Expos. Armas ERA is 6.20 w/ 1-3 record ,who in my opinion is still not healthy since being activated. Smoltz on the other hand has not lost a game since April 16. Look for an aggressive Braves team tonight. Men on, Men gone will be the theme. Stolen bases, sacrifices, & hit & runs will be on the menu. I don't expect the Nats to be within a run in the bottom of the 9th, however its not worth the runline risk today. Let's not get greedy family. Braves will end up in the Win column tonight.
FLORIDA MARLINS -125 : Brian Moehler has been pretty damn good in his last two starts. 13innings and only 2 earned runs. Not to mention all year he hasn't given up more the 2 Earned a game. The Pirates definitely have the Marlins number, but Fogg has not been the best when it comes to giving up runs this year. His ERA ain't ugly, but against Moehler you better keep the runs to a minimum. Look for the Marlins to do a lot more than 3 or 4 runs tonight. Same mentality the Braves will have & if you noticed both teams are in similiar positions tonight on the road, after losing the opening two gms of their series. Run , Run, Run. PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES -175 : Do I ever feel a hot streak coming on for these guys. They are getting the clutch hits needed & top of the order is getting on base for Abreu, Thome(big gm tonight), & Burrell. On top of all this is the fact that Lidle has been money of late, 3 starts & only 4 earned runs. The Giants meanwhile continue to struggle for offense and are pretty much just holding out hope that Bonds can return this year with them still in reach of at least the wildcard.
NEW YORK YANKEES -250 : A lot of chalk. Never!!!! RJ vs. the new & improved same old royals. Randy Johnson can get his strikeout groove back tonight against a young lineup swinging at pitches down & away. Torre will be back in the captain's chair & the Yanks will get back to winning as they normally do versus the Royals. 3 losses in a row will motivate a team of veterans to get back on track, and clubs like KC have to be taken advantage of if you want to win a pennant. This game is a MAJOR PLAY today.
