Despite playing just 14 games, Chicago Cubs shortstop Nomar Garciaparra is best at his position in the first NL totals released Wednesday by the commissioner's office. Garciaparra is on the 60-day disabled list with a torn groin muscle.

that doesn't come close to the year Mr. Viagra (R. Palmeiro) won the Gold Glove @ 1B despite the fact he played ONLY 28 games there all season

the all-star game voting i can live with - it is the fans game and whoever the fans want to see - they should be allowed to do so

but for "so-called" experts who allegedly follow the game all season long to give a Gold Glove to a guy who only played about 1/6th the season at a position is something i have a bigger problem with

It's almost like we should have 2 All Star games...one for the fans, and one with the real All Stars. It bothers me a bit because being an All Star should mean more than just being a fan favorite. Being an All Star should be an honor that means you were the best player at your position. Just my opinion...but the All Star game is a mockery in this day and age.
