$1500 NL holdem 2500 people and another 1000 wanted in but they could not house it. The Rio is a madhouse, nowhere to move, it takes 10 minutes to walk to the nearest bathroom and then another 10 minutes online to get in between the break. People were actually going out the backdoors and pissing in the parking lots and loading docks. It looks like a scene from woodstock.

I do not even know if the Rio is to blame. This poker is just so hot. People are now planning there vacations around the WSOP. The room is huge and well setup but the bathroom process was not thought out.

Hard to believe that this first event open to the public is as huge as last years main event.

Unbeliveable - brings back memories of Super Bowl 14 at the Rose Bowl. I had to take a leak behind one of the trees that grow inside the turnstyles but outside the stadium walls.

I went down there and saw the same thing. They have tables available and a lower limit tournaments ($200 with a rebuy) over at Palms that is getting the overflow. Bellagio and Wynn rooms are packed as well, even with the 200 table room going over at Rio. Amazing, poker isn't just hot its off the charts right now.

Definitely want to get in early though if you want to play the ring games. Every year the same thing happens, all kinds of people show up wanting to play poker and not necessarily the tournaments. So lots of live games and players around now, but in a couple of weeks the games will tighten up a lot as the good players bust the bad players. Then it will pick up again just before the championship event as some fresh money starts streaming in anew.

I busted out when the blinds were 50/100. I had AA vs. 56 but it was my fault because I limped pre-flop. I was under the gun and thought for sure someone behind would raise. Anyway, he flopped a straight.

Hellmuth was there along with a couple bodyguards standing behind him at the table. Negraneu's table had all the TV cameras on it. The cameras followed Jennifer Harman as she went out a loser. Devlifish, who looks in his 50s, was playing smooch and grabass with a 23-year old (or so) blonde.

It's a circus.

Thanks for the info guys. Seems like a nice party.

I don't know if Eli Lilly produces a proper medication to deal with that kind of atmosphere.

I suspect that this year is the year that the "overcrowding" issues go off the deep end. The growth has gotten way, wayyyyyy out of control.

Man, I truly envy you guys. Sounds like wild times, great action. I am planting my vegetable garden. Cigar and wine. My career path just went to sports, but I came up a lowball/holdem player. I would not last 1 table these days, totally outclassed. But I sure miss the action. Best of luck and enjoy the fishing.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

They have such an overflow at the expanded Bellagio room they even had $400/800 triple draw deuce to seven going in the main pit, can only imagine what games are being played up in the high limit area. Its crazy out there right now.

The original format was all tourneys are played out till the final table and then they come back the next day for the final table. That has all changed because of today's madness. All tournaments are going to be three days. I Just left the room and Phil Hellmuth and Devilfish have nice stacks. They are down to 300 after 12 hours. Now comes the torture the bubble is 200 and this will take hours.

The side games are unreal. The 80/160 at the Bellagio yesterday was playing like a 200/400 game. Once I had pocket aces on the button and it was 7 way capped to me before the flop, THAT'S RIGHT CAPPED TO ME. All I could do was call. Flop came 7-8-9 and I folded immediately as it was AGAIN capped to me. Have not seen stuff like this in Vegas since the Asians found Commerce (-;

The better value is probably in the side games.

Last month at the World Poker Classic at the Plaza, I was at Devilfish's table for a while, he had a hot brunette sitting behind him then. He is apparently the man.
