Do any of the Nevada Books comp horseplayers with rooms, etc for their action.

If so--about how much does a horseplayers have to wager per day for a room?

WHO, every book is different. Ask the horse supervisor any questions you have.Personally I've found the RIO very good about comp's,but I play very big. If at the RIO ask for Louise she has always taken care of me.Dinners, rooms, shows.Mandalay gave me about 100 drink tokens, but no shows or dinners or rooms.South Lake Tahoe is also easy for comps, for me.So just ask.If your not going to play atleast 7,8 dimes in horse action I wouldnt even ask for much, besides drink tokens.GREENHEAD

Thanks Greenhead---When it comes to the horses, you ARE the man in the know!!

One other question--do Nevada books generally put the $$$ in the track pools or do they just book it?? (As a Win Bettor---that's very important)

They used to rebate back in the day, but those days are long gone. The tracks threatened to cut off their signals.

If everything goes into the pool all the time--then They assume 0 (zero) risk!!

I'm a little surprised about this to say the least.......so it's basically a "lost leader". (I guess the tracks kick them something back...but)

Whoever books the pari-mutuel wager gets the lion's share of the takeout. For a WPS wager, it would be probably like 10% or so and the rest goes to the host track and host state. That is how parimutel rebate shops make money. Since they are getting 10% to 15% on a wager risk-free, they can afford to give back a substantial amount of that money to the player.

hey WHO,

When I was working as a sportsbook supervisor we were pretty good about taking care of the regular horse players. Somebody who'll be playing all of the tracks all day will definitely be considered for higher level comps.

I know the Coast Casinos and the Palms have pretty good "point" systems in order to track your play and have a sheet specifying what you can earn for your play.

If you're staying at other strip hotels, I'd ask whomever's working at the racebook that you'd like to be rated, so they can track your play and then hook you up and the end of your day.

The Las Vegas Hilton will comp you one dollar for every $33 wagered; believe it's the same at Bally's and Paris. You do need a rewards card which you can sign up for, and receive, immediately.

I would try THE ORLEANS and TREASURE ISLAND

TREASURE ISLAND has a tracking card.
