Struggling to score, the Indians made a major change after tonight's 6-5 loss to the White Sox, they fired hitting coach Eddie Murray, a Hall of Famer who was in his fourth year with the Indians. Hitting coordinator Derek Shelton will take over as batting coach on an interim basis for the rest of the season.

:monsters- speechless....Murray was one of the great clubhouse leaders in baseball as a player, somehow he's to blame for this horrible Cleveland team....

Maybe they should focus on keeping players like Thome, Ramirez, Giles and Sexson, just to name a few....organization is a joke:finger:

Wierd part is the Indians have an identical record (25-29) as they did at the 54 game mark last season.

Its got to be an awkward situation to fire a legendary baseball player, he has more credentials then that entire organization combined, and that is not an overstatement...

Eddie Murray fired by manager Eric Wedge (who) and replaced by Derek Shelton (who)

Eddie was a finalist for Baltimore's managerial opening, before they decided on Mazzilli
