Hello,

I haven't been wagering for awhile now and would like to know what happened with Heritagesports / betheritage. Don't see them posted anywhere.

Many thanks in advance.

ive been with them for awhile now and they have come to be 1 of my favorite books for baseball. Their payouts are very fast as well.

I know Heritage will and their Main Guy. This is a fantastic book that doesn't get the credit they deserved...

Very underrated like Tradewinds...

My 2 cents...

When I dealt with them, the website seemed to be down as often as it was up and they had bad terms for Neteller payouts. There was nothing they were offering that was interesting enough to keep me around.

That was awhile ago so they may have improved in those areas (then again they may have gotten worse.)

Ken,

Not sure if you realize, but the book is basically by invitation only. For the most part, you can't simply go to the web site and open an account. They are truly afraid of new players, and ideally only want new players who were reffered by existing players. If, you tell them that you've even heard of the forums, they will not take your action.

A couple of years ago, one of my friends joined near the end of baseball / begining of football. Rosh Hashannah, and yom kippur fell out on the weekned. So my friend didn't wager on any football those first two weekends, but did a lot of baseball. Eventhough he was only breaking even on the baseball, they booted him, because a true recreational gambler would have bet on football.

They are far and away the most cowardly book I have ever come accross

marc,

No, I wasn't aware of this and that's too bad...

I might be able to help you out because although they limit me, I am happy to get down with them....

Does'nt surprise me. Gary Austin who is part of Tradewind ran a sportsbook in Las Vegas. He faked a robbery to cover-up the stealing of everyone's money when he closed the doors and split town. A deposit only operation that should be avoided.

Heritage has always been a very nice book...I'm surprised they don't get more ink around here.

The get endorsements from the likes of "Lefty" Rosenthal, Lem Banker, and Jimmy Vaccaro, so if these well known, big time bettors endorse their books why then do they limit players wagers then? I mean wouldn't you think that if you played where these guys played you shouldn't have the fear a limit collar?

WHen I tried to sign up a few months ago, they asked me how I heard of them. I knew if I said therx that would probbaly scare them. So I said SBR. But then they asked, if that were true, why would I sign up woth them, when they are only a B rated book, and not sign up with one of SBR's "A" rated books.

It could be that ever since they had that huge run on the bank a couple of years ago, they are willing to keep any sharp player who stayed loyal to them. But for new players they really just want the squares. But as to why you don't hear about them much in the forums, I think it's because there are very few posters who still play there.

Sounds like he's talking about heritage not tradewinds. Heritage seems to have some strict screening processes and make it clear they want loser only.

Tradewinds is an awesome book. Calling it a deposit only operation couldn't be farther from the truth.

There are people that feel as strongly about Tradewinds owner Gary Austin as Shrink does about SBG Global. Ripped off money is ripped off money and the Austin money was cash over the counter. I know of someone who went to Costa Rica and tried to collect from Austin personally for his lost phone account money from that Oct'85 fiasco a few years ago and was told by Austin then that "The statute of Limitations had run out on those claims". Amazing as that seems from someone who would have no trouble now making good on that from a profitable book and the links with getting subscribers through Jim Fiest's tout service. All you have to do is enter the name on the search engine on this site to get an entire history lesson.

Thank you all for the replies. Some good and some bad.

I played with them a year or so back and I really liked the Western Union payouts that they offered. Have not seen any ads lately, this is why I was asking.

Thanks,

They mailed me something a few years ago. I called and asked a lot of questions specifically about withdrawals and bonus terms. I called back the next day having decided I'd open an account. They said they had no record of mailing anything to me. If I recall correctly they said I could open an acct, but no bonus. I passed.
