Bases is a grind, after spending Football and hoops 16 hours a day back to back I need a break. Summer is mine. Gardening, fishing (23 Black Bass to 4 1/2, 7 Bluegill and 1 big croaker bullfrog today), and vacationing with family. When I am hitting overnights and scalping, shooting middles it is intense. We used to call it the cooker. I will burnout if I work bases, with the others.
I focus on my tops earns, hoops and hoops. NCAA, NBA and Olympic. Although I had one of my best seasons with bases last year, I suffered through football, I was just about burned out. My batteries are high energy, but they were dead, so I tried something different and worked all sports. It was a mistake, and I knew it physically, mentally and most important financially.
I felt the same way when I was a moderator here. Just too much computer time. I am an outdoorsman kind of person. Up at 3:45 this morning to fish. Although it is my therapy, and I get to relax, it is very similar to gambling. Unknown variables and ability to recognize and adapt. Today the fish had moved from last trip, water dropped a foot and surface temp was much higher. Just like finding out what is hot and what is not. Try different baits, different spots and different methods, when you start to click, you repeat the successful method. I eat none of them. I gently release all of them so I may catch them again. They learn, and are a worthy opponent. Most people that fish here are lucky to catch 1 or 2. It is my #1 recreation, and I make time for it. My schd is 7 fulltime months, 3 part time winding down after NCAA ends. 2 months off. Direct final answer, to avoid burnout.
