TIP OF THE DAY
Sport: MLB - Baseball
Game: Arizona Diamondbacks @ Philadelphia Phillies on Jun 6 2005 1:05PM
Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks
Current Line: -150
Over/Under: 9 -115
Reason: The Diamondbacks made a late charge in yesterday's game, only to
fall short 7-6. Expect them to carry some momentum from that comeback as
they aim to salvage a game in this four game series.
Arizona will send Brandon Webb to the hill. He is coming off a tough
luck loss against the Mets, in which he gave up just one run in seven
innings of work. He has actually pitched better away from home, where he
is 3-1 with a respectable 3.60 ERA. That's especially impressive
considering two of his road starts came at Coors Field in Colorado. The
D'Backs lineup started hitting again on Sunday and should give him some
support here.
Philles starter Cory Lidle has been getting victories, but hasn't been
pitching all that well. In his last start he was bailed out by the
Phillies offense after allowing five earned runs in just 5 1/3 innings
pitched. At home this season he owns a bloated 5.96 ERA. He has never
faced the Diamondbacks.
Arizona will be desperate for a victory after dropping the first three
games of this series. They get the job done here. Take Arizona.+
