LSU makes a last second pitching change from what was announced and they roll the dice and start Determan and save lefty ace Clay Dirks for game 2 (if necessary).
That move hasnt payed off thus far, Determan has given up a 2 run homerun in the 1st inning. Questionable move by LSU skipper Smoke Laval. Wish I would have known that Dirks wasnt starting. If LSU pulls this game out, it will be lefty ace Dirks vs. a #4 mid-week starter for Rice, and I am hoping the line is the same.

Bizzarre inning for LSU--score 4 runs on 1 solid hit. Had a cue ball, 45 degree sideways bouncer on an infield bloop, a 2 hop ole under the 3rd baseman's glove which bounces off the bag for a 2 run, 100 ft double, a HBP and a double off the wall. Go up 4-2 in the bottom of the 3rd.
