TIP OF THE DAY

Sport: MLB - Baseball

Game: Oakland Athletics @ Nationals on Jun 7 2005 7:05PM

Prediction: Nationals

Current Line: 101

Over/Under: 7.5 -117

Reason: We get outstanding value with the Nationals on Tuesday night as
they aim to continue their tear against the Athletics.

Oakland will send the underachieving Barry Zito to the mound. The A's
have dropped four of his last five starts overall and he is 0-4 in seven
road starts.

Oakland has really struggled away from home, posting a miserable 8-20
mark. While they are coming off a solid stretch of games, those came
against the likes of the Devil Rays and Blue Jays.

Washington currently sits at the top of the N.L. East standings and has
won seven of their last eight games overall. They own a terrific 18-9
mark at home this season. The Nats' are finally starting to come around
at the plate, having scored 24 runs over their last four games.

While starter Tony Armas has struggled overall, he has a solid 2.77 ERA
in two home starts. He is coming off a strong outing against Atlanta in
which he allowed just two runs in six innings of work.

The Nationals are the superior team in this matchup, yet are getting
underdog value. We'll side with the home squad. Take Washington.+

I'd also like to add that williams The 26-year-old left-hander is 0-0 with a 3.75 ERA in three interleague starts. I think he gets his first win .
