LA Angels +109 (2 units)...The injuries keep piling up for the Braves. After losing Chipper, now it looks like they'll be without Estrada, who got barrelled over at homeplate last night, and suffered a concussion. Also, one of my recent faveorite "fades" Horacio Ramirez takes the mound, and the Angels have been smacking around LHP of late. Angles look like they've righted the ship somewhat without Vladdy. Byrd goes tonight for LAA, against his former club, so it may be Byrd's advantage that he won't see Chipper or his former battery mate. And we all know about the Braves' pen if Horacio goes out early.
Florida -1 1/2 (+143) (1 unit)..I expect Moehler to bounce back nicely from his horrendous start vs. Pittsburgh last time out, he has been solid all year at home. Also, expect the Marlins as a whole to get their act together now that they're back home. They should be able to hit Franklin, who has struggled all year. Plenty of baserunners, plenty of scoring chances, not good for Sea when your pitcher is prone to the gopher ball. Florida is still my pick to win the East.
Texas +137 (1 unit)...2 hot teams, 2 hot hitting teams, 2 cold pitchers, what do you get?? a +137 "value" pick on the dog. Drese has been brutal and Lieber has been bad. Drese atleast keeps the ball in the yard, for the most part. This one will probably go to the bullpens early, which favors the Rangers, imo, esp. since they had a day off yesterday. Philly's pen is terrible right now. note: Soriano is out for atleast a few days. But Tex has won 11 of 14. Would take the OVER, but 10 1/2 is still a heck of a lot runs outside of Coors.
