If so how does it work for you?? im leaning to getting one...

Do you just need to pay 12.95 per month for the service and it just transmits for your portable radio? or do you need some kind of reciever in your home?

thanks

I've had it for two years. It's great. Bought the XM SkiFi 2 which is about $100 for the unit and $13.00 a month. Get every baseball game, all different kinds of music and it has a built in recorder. It automatically hold the last 30 minutes of whatever you listened to.

What questions do you have?

The SkyFi 2 has a built in FM modulator so you use it with any radio. Don't know about the other units.

I've bought an XM MyFi two months ago, they are regularly $300, but I bought an unused one missing it's manual for $250 at Best Buy. It is a great product for baseball junkies, as you can listen to Dibble and Kennedy during the day, the Ripkens, Holden Kushner, Mark Gray, Charlie Steiner,etc..

I comes with a plethora of accessories, but mainly a base battery charger stand, an antenna with cord, and I use a short wave radio I've had forever as it's speaker(it's signal is even strong enough to work on other radios in the house)..

In between being hooked to power in the home or car, it will slowly lose it's charge, and I've yet to test it's duration, but it it seems that it would stay charged for hours longer than I have ever been between charges.

I'm not sure of Walmart or not(I've never seen it there), but Best Buy,etc..carry it, and it is well worth it!

Dante, it is to radio what HDTV is to television..crystal clear.

However, you will lose the signal for a second or so, when under an overpass, tunnel, or when it's raining cats and dogs.

I find it better than Sirius, of which I know a few that have, because despite Sirius having more sports league exclusive contracts, only baseball with it's dragged out and spaced calendar, is the one I need on the go, or in the detailed minutiae that the game represents.

Let's face it, most of us sickies are home by the tube for all NFL games, of which Sirius is built, and the NBA is widely available on dish and cable.

XM, Dish MLB package, or MLB.com is a must for baseball bettors.

important to note, you do need a clear line of sight to the satelite...

so I imagine it would not work well in shopping mall's or basements etc etc.....

I have heard that some people even have trouble using it in the house..

That is true. But I think it's more prevalent with the walkmen device compared to the other devices. Mine works in my house without a clear shot outside.

Also in regard to Sirius, there music programming is terrible compared to XM's. I get to hear it on Dish tv. It's just like FM's programming without the commercials. Same songs over and over.
