Congralutions To Winky and Other CS Fullerton Fans

Titans trailing Arizona State 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th score two runs with no outs, the winning run being scored on a called balk on the fourth and final pitch of an intentional walk to load the bases. Now 1 win away from the College World Series and a chance to defend their title. Good stuff in the Super Regionals today with more to follow tomorrow.

WTF - horrible way to lose a game. I know I didn't see the play but that ump had some nerve calling a balk on an intentional walk IMHO.

Very strange and rare call indeed. That being said, had the balk not been called the Titans still would have had the bases loaded and no one out with the score tied at 2-2, so certainly a strong possibility of getting the win anyway. But what a call.

Good point Ted, most likely Fullerton would have scored anyway, although they most likely would have preferred to win the game playing baseball. Can you imagine something like this happening in the MLB postseason to eliminate a club?

for those who can catch the game saturday - should fullerton win - watch at the end for one of the coolest traditions we have going

in RC - there is a sign that reads "1,544 Miles to Omaha"

that sign is like the Stanley Cup - NO ONE touches it during the season - with the exception of an outfielder running into the sign to catch the ball

BUT

when fullerton wins and makes Omaha - EVERY SINGLE PLAYER runs to that sign and jumps up against it and touches it and celebrates the accomplishment. it is cool to see and the crowd goes nutso each time it happens

as for the end of the game - agree - bogus way to end it

sorry - NO WAY that should have been called. this is where common sense has to come into play. a "balk" is done to prevent deception. sorry - NO deception on an IBB - NONE!
