not fishead but keep the 2's....a 3 of a kind pays more than 2 aces in the long run

On a standard JoB full pay machine:

A only has an expected return of .464
low pair has an expected return of .824

Low pair is the clear choice

ALWAYS hold hte pair of 2's! Likewise hold the pair of 3's and 4's as well.

If you have an ace as well, then hold the pair of 2's as well as the ace since alot of machines will pay more for 4 of a kind if the kicker is an ace

I have read a lot of books and I don't believe that you hold the A as a kicker ! Chances of getting 3 or 4 of a kind is far better if one hold only the pair and draws 3 instead of drawing 2 cards.

I hit a Royal for $ 1630 last Sunday at the Nevada Palace. They have lots of specials like card of the day, suit of the day, etc plus cash back and free gifts etc. They also have the old 9/6 Jacks or better with quarter in and out on each pay. :suomi:

ID, there is so much to VP people dont realize. First there many different forms of VP, and different Strats. for each that maxamize you payout.

I dont know of any game where you throw away a pair, just to hold an A. Although there could be a game out there, but I doubt it.

so, answer you question, i would say NO.

most times people are better off playing nickle slots rather than testing their skills a VP. i have seen some play, and the mistakes are horrible

Nevada Palace is on Boulder Hwy and Harmon which is just south of Sam's Town.
Yes, it was a progressive and I was only in about $ 20. As a matter of fact I started with $ 20 and only had 15 credits left when I hit the 3 spot and got the Royal. Nevada Palace is independently owned I believe and offers lots of specials to locals. I guess We could call them bonuses :lolBIG:

Nevada Palace has had many super promos over the years...........and most video poker pros have hammered them pretty hard over the years.

They once had FULL PAY DOLLAR DUECES there for about 45 days.........which was a super play combined with all their other bonuses. Only about 3-4 professionals knew about it at the time. My buddy beat them for over $28,000 in that span.............much better than my girlfreind and me I might add.

KERMIT--congrats on the hit! Do they still have the trivia there at 8pm?

ps- By the way, not even in DOUBLE BONUS poker where four ACES pays 800 coins does one hold just an ACE over a pair of dueces.
