Well I will definitely have some very good plays for Omaha. Liking Omaha better than some of the games today. However one stands out.

Cal State--I strongly believe that this is one of the best, if not the best team out there. ASU basically blew its decent starting pitching and will need to pitch by committee today. CSF has a good 3rd starter in Sarver. The recent stats for some of the possible ASU starters are not good. Just what CSF needs to awaken those bats. Have Cal State for the series but jumping on to take them again -300. Heavy juice but again CSF is the better team, has more pitching depth and believe they break out today.

Looking at some other games today as well. Good Luck all.

I second that as I'm also sweating out a CSF series bet as well!

Even worse, I had a nice parlay going yesterday...I would have never dreamed that the only loser on it would be the -400 Fullerton team. I guess 4 to 1 just doesn't buy what it used to.

(and go Old Miss too!)

Juice Sunday

Early game---I'm laying Tulane today as well. Rice may very well win the series but do not believe it comes today with Micah Owings on the mound. They have a strong line-up and they will score some runs. Both these teams are very good and its a shame one of them has to go. See this one going 3. Tulane lost at home for the 5th time all year yesterday. Tulane will be ready to play today.

Am Looking at a dog but waiting till the last minute for the play.

ASU has pitching depth problems. Who will they start today?? Then show me that pitcher's last 5 starts. They will need to pitch by committee today. Just what Cal State needs to awaken those giant bats. Pressure game. My money is on the mentally tough, experienced home team with depth. Cal State will get it done. Good Luck.

Raw,

Seems like you follow the college bases pretty well, I'm just along for the ride, have no idea about college ball. Sounds like you really like Fullerton today, that's definitely good to hear. I sure hope they can finally do something at the plate today.

Looking forward to your possible upcoming play.

If Savery cant pitch then Rice will go with Degerman who is 8-1 with an ERA of 3.07

Well my pick yesterday was going to be Texas +180. +180 is far too generous for a decent team who has been there plenty of times.

So I was going to pick them again today too but since they may pull out game 1, I do not know if I am going to get the value I thought I was going to get. I have to wait and see.

yea, my thoughts exactly. They are up 4-1 now, with the bases loaded, but if they lose this game ill take em in game 2.

all the comments about ASU's pitching are

DEAD ON

they are now scrambling while we are not

Fullerton WILL throw Scott Sarver - another lefty at ASU. Sarver put up respectible numbers on the season

From all i have read about ASU - it will be like 4-5 guys ready to go - just hoping to get 2-3 innings from each one and from what i read - they are probably going to start Zechry Zinicola - the guy who "balked" in the winning run Friday

now - here is my take on the CSUF/ASU game

first off - for the 3rd day in a row - the game will probably be played under cloudy and overcast skies. it actually rained last night a tad in So Cal - but the field is in IMMACULATE shape - and rain and a slick track won't be a problem.

the heavy air, though WILL help fullerton somewhat - for it will keep balls in the park - which fullerton likes

the simple fact is - we are NO hitting right now.

we got NO runs the last 6 innings vs Zona in the Regional Champ Game, 1 run thru 8 innings friday in G1 of the SR and saturday shutout thru 7 innings in G2

some of the guys we really need to hit - aren't and it is not like we can replace them. and to top it off - Ronnie Prettyman - who might be our hottest hitter in the SR - and basically the ONLY guy who has played 3B for us all season long - hurt his toe big time in T2 saturday trying to score - but thrown out. he will play - but in a lot of pain. if he can't make it thru the game - Neil Walton will play 3B and while he can field the ball - he can't hit - so a big bat comes out of the lineup for us

BUT

we might catch a nice break here in this game. Saturday in T8 - for the 1st time in almost 2 months our DH, Felipe Garcia came to bat. he has had a bad/broken foot and he came to bat for the 1st time since mid-April saturday. he got a single on the first pitch he saw.

IF

Felipe can play and IF what i/we saw in his AB is a sign he is back - YES! this guy just killed pitching in Omaha and if Jason Windsor hadn't won the CWS MOP - Felipe would have - for i have zero doubt he was choice #2

if Felipe can play - and swing the bat well - HUGE boost for us - it gives us a big time stick - something we need

looking back on things - fullerton has lost something like 4 or 5 games in a row on saturday. but we rarely lose sunday

i doubt we will here - but at this price - can't lay it with a team that has only scored 5 runs in 2 games - and only 2 runs in the first 8 innings of them both.

i also can't suggest playing a total (if you can find one) for knowing what ASU's staff will be like - it won't shock me to see us put up 10+ runs in this game. then again, if we score 2-ish it also won't shock me

all i know is in 3 hours i will be there thanks to some good fortune about G2 saturday (a friend and i spoke to this one woman who has worked at CSUF for a LONG time - and who we have known for a LONG time - and we asked about tix availability for sunday's G3 - when she said she had 2 tix she was looking to sell - did we want them? we nearly jumped out of our shoes to quickly pay her for them - otherwise we would have had to wait in a long line and HOPE to get tix - we got REALLLLLY lucky!)

GO TITANS!

Tulnae gives us a 1-0 on the day

Owings did not allow a single runner past 1st base and only allowed 3 hits and 1 walk for a complete game shutout. I knew he would be on but that was a gem.

Got Cal State for the second play of the day. May have one more.

Nice call. Looks like I lost Game 2. Couldn't get any clutch hitting. Nice win. Game 3 should be a dandy. Two fairly evenly matched teams. Good luck to you.

1-1 on the day minus juice. Both games went as expected until it looked like CSF was the one lacked the pitching depth going up 7-2 and could not hold it.
CWS looks very good and love some of the matchups already. Good Luck to everyone. :toast:
