It is about time isn't it?

How many years does the big guy have left in him?

Do you really think he will win a title again?

I doubt it. He is on a team that is likely to be right back in the conference finals (and mabye further) again next year.

This guy is so overrated and his game is so limited. Has this guy improved his game at all in the last 10+ years. Still shoots his FTs like a little girl. Tim Duncan's game is 50x better this mountain guerilla!

No Kobe, no title!

Of course he is not oging to retire he wants that big contract, he didnt put up big numbers this years and his numbers are gone go down after this year.

THE STARTING CENTER FOR THE TEAM WITH THE BEST RECORD IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE LMAO, seems he's been doing pretty well. They then went 8-0 to start the playoffs, sounds DONE to me. Where would we rank him among centers?

Shaq is not retiring anytime soon. He is working on a contract extension with the Heat to keep him here until he retires. My guess is he has another solid 2-3 years left. Depends on how long he wants to play after that if he is not at the top of his game. As for him not winning another title, I disagree. D Wade is just as good as Kobe, if not better. He understands the game and how to play it. Something Kobe does not. That is a HUGE difference. Miami will add a couple role players in the offseason and they will be right back at the top of the East. My guess is Miami, Indiana, Detroit will be back at the top of the standings next season. Please dont forget that if Miami was 100% healthy, we would be talking about Heat/Spurs game 3 tonight and not about Shaq retiring.

Yep - Shaq, Barry Bonds and Ricky Williams should go on the road with the Circus.

Believe he will break down sooner and more often each season he continues to play. He carries too much weight for basketball. His legs are taking a beating going 94 feet and carrying his 340 or whatever pounds. Still the best center, I believe, but will have to get in shape if he wants to continue.

"Has to get in shape if he wants to continue"? Just wondering if you saw him play at all last season? He was in some of the best shape that he had been in years. He lost a ton of weight during last year's offseason. He also played more games last season then he had the previous years. He is no longer 340 pounds. If not for a freak injury registered by Jermaine O'Neal, Shaq would not have missed any games in the postseason. Just stating the facts.:103631605
