It's a felony to raise, house or posess "fighting roosters" in Colorado.

The illegals keep it in the news on a weekly basis out here.

There are also casinos all over Arizona (but they are on the reservations). It's okay for his state to bus the senile up to the casinos there, but gambling is the devil outside of it.

Pathetic.....

Fry'em or fight'em, doesn't make much difference to the chicken when it's all said and done.

I did some reading up on this becuase of this thread.

I didnt know they tied sharp blades to the feet and gave it special feed (cock feed. .lol) used just for the purpose of these fights.

Isnt there some cheating going on too? Sounds like a coin flip.

True Story---I swear!!!! Cruelty to Animals Charges.
Last summer in the news was a story of a man that had a peach tree growing in his yard. But every summer he had a big problem with squirells eating most of his fruit before it coul be picked (normal size.) He was not allowed to poison or do anything to harm the squirrels due to the cruely to animals act. (Not sure if just a Virginia law or nationwide.) Anyway...the guy calls the Animal Control Board and asks them what to do to save his peaches? They tell him...it will be ok for him to put out traps to catch the squirrels, but that he MUST call the board when they are captured to come and PICK up the cages with squirrels. Anyway..the guy forgets to call and it's a very HOT day. Several squirels are captured and DIE in the cages from the heat before he calls the Animal Control Board. HE was charged with cruelty to animals and had to go to court!!!! (All this to save his peaches.) MEANWHILE in Arizona, you are telling me that chickens can fight to the death for sport!!!
What a country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Tennessee Congressman Bill Jenkins says the F-B-I has terrorism and serious crimes to investigate and questions why agents were involved in busting a cockfight.

State and federal agents charged 144 people on Saturday and seized about 40-thousand dollars in cash. They found more than 300 roosters dead in the Del Rio community in Cocke (KAHK') County.

The Republican congressman from Knoxville told The Knoxville News Sentinel's Washington correspondent the state has a methamphetamine epidemic and there are ongoing homeland security and terrorism concerns. Jenkins says the government doesn't need to divert the F-B-I's attention to cockfighting -- only a misdemeanor crime in Tennessee.

Jenkins voted in the Judiciary Committee against a bill that would have made it a felony to transport animals, including roosters, across state lines for fighting.

I find it disgusting. No animal should be raised to fight. It's a disgrace. They should be tried as felons and prosecuted fully.

When I was much younger, my girlfriends dad at the time took us Wayyy out in the middle of nowhere to a cock-fight. Man, there was a crowd. They even had a place set up selling food & drinks. Well, about an hour into it, everyone started scrambling. Word was cops were on the way, so we were packed up and out of there in a minute flat! That was fine with me of course. I get no satisfaction out of watching animals be forced to kill each other.....

I agree. I'd have to assume that it's rather gruesome-I just don't see the attraction.
