I am looking to bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to win the SuperBowl if I can find a decent future price. The best I have found is 6-1. Has anyone seen anything better? If so, could you please tell me where. THANK YOU!

Why don't you just have the folks in your "NFL department" do the research for you? Personally, I would just take the Eagles to win the NFC East, that looks like the safest bet on the board. Unless half their team goes down to injury, there is zero chance of anyone else winning the division. Even if McNabb goes down in game 1, they should still be able to win. Look around and you'll find some surprisingly decent odds.

TIP--Check around for DIVISION odds as well.........you may find something that actually may be a better wagering option.

I would not recommend making a play on one of the favorites this early. Only plays on long shots is wise this early.

You can get those same odds or better after the first few games of the regular season. Why take the chance laying your risk this early when injuries can occur. Mcnabb goes down in preseason, your 6-1 is toilet paper.

I looked around and found the best NFL valued longshot to be the Baltimore Ravens. The best line I found on them (by far) is 22-1 that is on betWWTS. I think that is an excellent line for such a talented defense. Does anyone have thoughts on this.

Our "small group" only has one person per dept. I am the only NFL person....and usually do not deal with futures. Otherwise I would love to have someone find that out for me. Is it the phrasing of department that has you so wound up? My apologies.

Thank you for the insight regarding the Eagles, point WELL TAKEN.

No apology needed man. I saw you took some ribbing in the MLB forum (Jack Mehoff etc.) and handled it with class and a sense of humor. But yes, it was the word department that got me "wound up". Your initial post sounded just like every radio commercial I hear where some dude gets on there and says "We have obtained game-deciding information that will determine who wins tonight's Monday Night Football game...Do not even attempt to play this game on your own...you will get KILLED!".

Understood. I did not mean for it to come off as arrogant or overdramatized that I belong to some top notch group. Just a group of avid handicappers and researchers. Deptartment is probably not the best word to use. Also....I did not intend to make it sound "commercial" because I am not trying to sell anything or trying to convince anyone of anything. Just adding my 2-cents and looking for some helpful info (which I have received a ton). We are a group that has bet big and had much success.....but in this game that can all change fast.

***** In regards to everyone saying that I may be better off betting on the Eagles to win the Division. The Eagles are -300 almost everywhere I looked. The best line was on mybookie.com (-285). I cannot imagine laying $285 to win $100 on them to win the division as opposed to laying $100 to win $600+ for them to win the Super Bowl (with opportunities to hedge).

I understand the point about ...If McNabb goes down the bet sucks.....but that would also make the division bet suck. I really think that if T.O. signs (which he will) and McNabb stays healthy (which he probably will) that the Eagles have a fairly easy road to the SuperBowl.

Would you still lay -300 for them to win the division instead?

I see them at -250 at Canbet. I guess I feel like that is as close to a lock as it gets, even if McNabb gets hurt. There's no doubt TO will play this year, he won't forfeit the money he's owed and give up a year of his career at age 32, he doesn't have that many years left as an elite player. I just think the other teams in the division will be lucky to even finish 8-8, while there's no way the Eagles will finish at .500 or worse. The super bowl bet definitely has more potential of a big payoff, but once you start hedging that reduces the payout. I don't have the bankroll to tie it up in futures, but if I did I would still take the Eagles to win the division, maybe $1000 to win $400.

That is bucking some serious history been about 2 decades since a SB loser won it the next year. Birds certainly look superior but NFL is full of funny outcomes. If Giants don't quit on the coach again they could be dangerous. Cowboys could get a little better. Still Philly's to lose, but stranger things have happened.

Thank you very much for the insight.

edub69, I do agree. Even without McNabb they will probably win that division. They also have a pretty easy schedule. I may go that route. Thank you.
