I am going to buy it tomorrow. I doubt if it will be as good as Parachutes, but we'll see.

one of my all time favorite albums. not just for one song or two, but for the entire thing.

if you go into music albums hoping they will be just an extended set of the bands previous album, or the one far back - youll 9/10 be disappointed. bands evolve, and instead of melodic, accoustic, tunes - this one has many more radiohead style influences and U2 like trends that left me at least, both satisfied and thoroughly relaxed.

took about 5 all the way through sets, and then it was complete - to me.

good luck on your purchase, it's got some amazing indescribable driving music along with your usual coldplay vibe, coupled with many other musical influences.

listen to it, as its own - not as an extension of any other album and im sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

finally.

if you purchase your album at best buy, youll receive the downloadable password for the b-side from the rush of blood to the head album, clocks cd single -

crest of waves

likewise from target youll receive the b-side, animals

and finally from wal-mart, youll receive murder.

out of those three - i'd go with target or best buy, as both of those tracks are very good.

U2 is my favorite group, but Coldplay is definitely moving up the ranks and may be my number two band by now. I like the album, but like you said, you really need to listen 4 or 5 times before you finally get it. I know most people liked Rush of Blood to the Head a lot better than Parachutes, but I preferred Parachutes. I liked Rush of Blood a lot, and it has some great jamming tunes, but I prefer the quieter, inner-reflective nature of Parachutes. X and Y seems to be a different sound, like you said. But it still sounds like Coldplay.

I will say that it hasn't immediately clicked like Parachutes did for me. But I bought an old Stereophonics CD about 2 weeks ago. I didn't care for it much the first 2 times through it, and then I finally got it. This cd has potential, but I may or may not end up loving it.

They play it at least 5 times an hour here is the bay area. I think they are very over rated and being shoved down everyone's throats.

unfortunately the radio tends to drown out quality tunes with overplay. i wasn't too big a fan of the single off AROBTTH, but speed of sound is good, yet overplayed.

Hey Leykis, are you a radio celebrity?

Tom Leykis is definitely a radio personality(I just like the guy, not actually him or anything).

No lying there. A station out here plays a minimum two 50 CENT tunes an hour, back to back to back...blah blah blah. I think most listeners like a little variety, but you know the record companies or someone is paying for that over-exposure and repeated playing.

Every one of their songs sounds exactly the same. Not the mark of a great band at all.

I would have to disagree with you on that. If you take their first two albums, they really were not all that similar.

The first song, "Square One," sounds a little like Depeche Mode.

If you are into Depeche Mode, buy The Bravery. Not my style however.
