Let me say right now that I do not like this Arizona State team to go very far in this tournament. I feel them winning the Fullerton regional wasn't really them being better than Fullerton, but rather Fullerton being exposed a bit as overrated this year. Arizona State played a weak regional to get to the supers and impressively defeated Cal State in a hostile environment.

With that being said, tonight should be a pitcher's duel. Chamberlain is the ace on a Nebraska staff that features no true ace. They have 4 solid starters, but Chamberlain has been the best slightly. He'll face Arizona State's Uriquidez. Uriquidez has been the true ace of the Sun Devil staff and shut down Fullerton in Cal State.

In any pitcher's duel, 1 run here, 1 hit there, 1 error can be the difference in the game. I'm not comfortable laying -220 on Nebraska in a game that should be decided by 3 runs or less. Tonight should be a pitcher's duel. Nebraska features a very weak offense highlighted by one player...Player of the Year Alex Gordon. Arizona State will not allow Gordon to beat them. All year long, Nerbaska has been involved with pitcher's duels. Eventually, they bite you in the ass.

Arizona State has a team built for pitcher's duels, not high scoring affairs, though they can put up runs if necessary. They have a team that doesn't strike out much, most of their lineup can swipe a bag, and they put tremendous pressure on the defense. That is what wins in pitcher's duels. If State can find ways to get men on base, they have a great ability to manufacture runs via the stolen base and contact hitters.

Cliff Notes Version:

I do not like State to go far in this tournament, but in a game that should be a pitcher's duel and decided by 3 runs or less...I'm going with the major underdog and hope they squeek a run here or there. I am not looking to blow my winnings from earlier today. I had 2 units to win roughly 4. So this will be a 1 unit play to win roughly 2.10.

Arizona State +210 (1 unit)
