Every day, I handicap the MLB card. Today, I picked out two dogs that I like based on recent form of the pitchers. Then I read the selections of Bucsfan, and to my dismay, he goes the other way on BOTH. In fact, Philly is his favorite play today. I like Oakland.

I'm even thinking Tampa Bay, since Suppan is 0-6 lifetime against the D-Rays. But after further review, I think I'll play some ponies today. Good Luck to all.

No disrespect to Bucsfan or the season that he's having, but I'm sure he'll be the first in line to tell you that there are many paths to glory when betting, especially in baseball. I've heard of about 10,000 "proven systems" to winning at baseball. However, there's also a lot of truth in the fact that baseball is the easiest of betting sports. IMO, if you took the time to study what you think is important in gambling, go for it, no matter what anyone else says. Bucsfan isn't going to go perfect every day you know.... lol.

I appreciate the encouragement, AFL. I am rather new at MLB handicapping, though I am fossilized when it comes to football. We all look for different factors in handicapping and that's what makes a forum like this so interesting. But Bucsfan has been kicking my butt even though I've had a successful season to date.

A good day for me is when my favorite play is Bucs favorite play...

That is a remarkable coincidence. I'm trying to get better at this so I handicap them all each morning, then check with the master. But if it's winning your are into, I would just enjoy the ride. Ancient Chinese Proverb: Give a man a winner and he eats for a day. Teach a man to pick winners and eats for a lifetime.

I'm always looking for new ways to get an edge. I was able to beat baseball last year from May 1 to July 31 using a simple little computer program I wrote. But after the trading deadline, the results were disastrous. The program assumed BOTH teams were trying to win. But after August 1, losers started looking at prospects rather than playing to win at all costs like the teams fighting for the playoffs.

I think beating baseball after August 1st is a whole new ballgame. I would encourage anyone to give it a shot. It's pretty satisfying to pick your own winners and cash them.

I tend to agree on Bucsfan. He is a handicapper in the purest sense of the word. Many Pay for Play guys are better at marketing than they are at handicapping. But even the best of them go into major league slumps at times. The amazing thing here is that I haven't seen anything that resembles a slump. The guy is on fire every week. You can't just look at a day, but if he's winning each week ... wow.

I have never seen anyone post the kind of numbers he has without putting in bullshit 10-20 unit plays. Nor have I seen that type of consistency. Its not uncommon to see someone have a wicked streak only to give most are all of it back in short order. Most would consider it a successful season if they had a 1/4 of the units in the bank at the end of the season as to what buc has right now. It will be interesting to see if he can carry it through the rest of the year. I won't bet against him that is for damn sure. Hats off to you buc.:toast:

OK, I fully expect to lose this play. I just made a small bet on a parlay of Oakland & Tampa Bay. It won't cost me much and I'm getting 4.35 to 1 at Pinny.

So much for baseball today. Pistons -3.5.

Thanks, FawvDog. Even a blind squirrel gets one once in awhile. Just liked Blanton's recent form. Waechter sucked for the Rays. Layed low today.
