St. Louis -148 (4 units)...Big play for me. Carpenter was masterful last time out vs. his former Toronto mates, he will be shooting for his 10th win tonight. He has now won 25 games since the beginning of last season. Remember St. Louis' big 9th inning comeback win at Cincy on May 2nd?? That was the day the Reds threw in the towel. Harang has been solid at home, but his recent struggles will have a carry over effect vs. this tough Cards lineup, who have racked up quite a few homers vs. Harang in his career. He will need to last awhile in this one, Reds bullpen is in shambles after that Atl series. Cards continue to play well despite various injuries. Looking for STL to jump on the Reds early. They have dominated this series the last 2 yrs.
Boston +102 (1 unit)..Clev is red hot, taking advantage of the weaker NL West teams, now the defending World Champs come to town. I'm gonna take the hotter pitcher and the stronger lineup here. Wells comes in off after finally putting together 2 excellent starts in a row. Sabathia struggled last time vs. Colorado and has had his problems vs. Boston in the recent past. Now is the time for Boston to climb up the AL East standings, with the Yankees playing well again.
