I'm still relatively new to all this betting stuff and thus still very curious about the whole process. I understand people do this professionally and full time. If you guys don't mind just throwing out average figures for profits made annually so I can get a sense of where i stand. I only started 2 months ago and have accrued almost a dime.

Take care

Call me crazy, but saying you won any significent amount of money in a public forum may not be the best idea for gamblers to follow. Then again maybe I am paranoid. Lets see what happens in the thread.

I'm pretty sure this post was meant to be harmless then again I really don't know. However anyone answering this would be akin to sending the I.R.S a tax return with professional gambler written on it.

thats a very broad question, we have people betting 10 dollars a game and 10 dimes a game...it would be better to ask how many units ahead you could expect to be over the course of a season....

a more accurate question should be "How much does this cost you?"

Most people do not have the DISCIPLINE or Money Managment skills to MAKE money at this.

If you are thinking about quitting your day job? forget it.....

I can try to explain this to you from MY perspective. I am not giving you exact amounts, but you can try to figure out YOUR situation by extrapolating my values.

Every month, I have $30 to spare for gambling. (TIP: It doesn't matter what I earn, all that matters is how much I can use for gambling)

I have $600 total (in three offshore accounts and Neteller) right now. That is a bankroll from 2 years of gambling. So in 24 months, I would have had $720 had I put the $30 in the bank, but only have $600 now(Tip: If you see that I like a game, go against me)

Because I have $600, I make each play worth $20 (I know 3% is high for proper money management, but that is me)

Now let me explain how things were:

I had no bankroll, and I was putting money in books using credit cards. I was in debt, and my average daily wager was LARGER than my monthly salary. Needless to say, I lost a LOT of money and everytime I tried to win it back, I would lose more. I went broke, and quit gambling for 3 years.

no shit SS, this is no business. what a brutal way to make a living.

I'll stick to real investments like real estate, the IRS understands when I report that income

You guys are right to worry. I actually work for the IRS and now I want your money. Give it to me baby. Yeahhh.

Nah, j/k. I guess i didn't think of the implications of reporting your earnings (in which case when i originally quoted i made a dime I really meant 10 cents...) It's just I had read dozens of posts about people seemingly routinely making 10-50K. It almost makes me wonder if this is the norm. If everyone is making money then who is hurting? Assuming it's the chronic gamblers that are the ones losing money wouldn't you expect them to be the best at gambling simply because they have done it the most and know how to make the most?

I'm just curious that's all. Thanks for the posts.
