Sorry to bug everyone but this is really ticking me off. I can't sign in to anything MSN, Pinnacle, Bowmans, Yahoo, etc etc. The few error messages I do get if that my browser's isn't accpecting any cookies. I've checked with IE and firefox to check my settings. I've set it on a default setting and then a custom setting to allow it but still nothing. In fact therx is the only thing i can sign up for but it doesn't let IE remember my name I gotta get signing in on any visit. If anything knows anything about this please lead me to the right direction.

Hmmmmm........

Give it some time, we have a couple guys in here a little bit more qualified than myself on this subject. If it related to some other specialties I would be of help. They will be around, be patient.........

do you have a personal firewall or virus protection that is disabling your cookies?

I'm like that with computers also. It's something simple I'm sure. Worst case scenario is you may have to reinstall XP if there was a problem when reinstalling it. I've had to do that.......

I still can't figure out why people use that sh!t. I am not a big fan of any norton/mcafee software . I don't trust them. All it does is slow down your computer and create problems like you just had. Most viruses are infected through email anyways. Chances of being hacked into a very slim. Just make sure you have service pack 2 and all the updates, delete all email from people you do not know, and stay away from the porn sites. If you do get a virus, just go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/and run a scan and then delete whatever you have manually. Its rather easy actually.
Anyways, glad your problem is fixed.

Windows updates are usually a problem in themselves

No doubt! Microsoft is being very aggressive in attempting to plug the holes in it's operating systems. What that means is that they are locking things down with the pseudo firewall that simply prevents attackers from accessing the vulnerabilities....and this will inevitably cause issues with other apps.
