Anybody own one? I'm looking at getting one as was looking for some feedback or tips. I plan on using it at the gym plus I'm going on a few vacations this year.

Any other brands beside Apple that is better?

I think the Iriver mp3 players are much better. Software is better and the mp3 player I use goes on my arm, don't even realize it's there when I jog.

I know the Ipod has some BS where the rechargable battery has to be replaced after a certain time and is expensive to do so.

i have a 60 gig ipod photo for regular use and an ipod shuffle for running. i wouldn't reccomend anything else. i have bought ipod mini's for gifts and are alot more useful if you have a smaller collection of music.

the battery concern is an issue with lithium batteries and not apple itself.

you honestly can't go wrong with either an IPOD or Iriver just find the best price and you'll be happy with either. Also don't go crazy over gig size either. I have over 2500 MP3 and even that barely is over 10 gigs
