Not only can they win back-to-back NBA Championships tonight. If successful would be the first team to win games 6 and 7 on the road! I think that would be making a grand statement if accomplished. Either way , tonight's victor will deserve their rings! Good luck to both and may the force be with you!

The Spurs may well destroy the Pistons Tonight.

At -4 here in Vegas, a chunk bet is in order.

People could have bet Detroit +5.5 at open. Nope. They wait for the +4/+4.5 and THEN pull the trigger, grabbing a team that has been outscored on the road in the playoffs, agains a team that outscores their playoff opponents at home by 11.5. Plus the Spurs are off a loss (always a good thing........see zigzag), plus superior game 7 teams are dynamite ATS historically.

Nice job Detroit the last 4 games, and nice job vs. a decimated Miami team (who they trailed by 4 late in game 7), and nice job vs. a punchless NBA East the last two years in elimination games.

CRUNCH! SA 92, Det 81.

Don't worry, in a game like this you will find plenty of squares and wise guys on EACH side! Good luck Superstar!:toast:

I'll be the first to admit this one was a virtual coinflip at 4.5/5.

However, at -4 the Spurs had some value (ok I may be biased, call it a favorable coinflip at -4).

I do assure all that this was a game of sharp bettors vs. recreational bettors. Not all the pros I know were on the Spurs but it was about 7-1 favoring San Antonio. The public side can win, but not tonight. The line stays 4.5 in far away places, and closed at 4 in most Vegas shops. Vegas squares didn't want the +5 -105 line THAT WAS THERE FOR AN ENTIRE DAY. They went for the +4 -110 and +170 ML. Mind boggling how bad the bettors are in square city here.

Fez: In your opinion, how much is homecourt worth in a Game 7 NBA Final? P.S. Congratulations on your prowess, SA-4!:toast:

SA vs. Det, Home/Road Dichotomy

Spurs outscored their playoff opponets, when at home by 11.5 points.
Det got outscored on the road vs. their playoff opponents by 1.5 points.

Spurs played PHX, Denver and Seattle
Det played Philly, Indy and MIA

So SA had the tougher road for the most part as well.

Call gave 7 home field here 5 points, add 1 point for being the team off a loss, and I get 6 points. Thus, a line of SA -4.25 implied Det was the better team by 1.75 points in power ratings. I disagree, at most you could argue the teams were pretty equal, I would have the Spurs 2 points better in a neutral site, neutral situation.

Thank you for the analysis Fez! Game 7 homecourt=5 points, I agree with that. By the end of the series I had both teams rated about equal , thus I would have them pick 'em on a neutral site! Now if we could only find neutral referees, and by saying that I'm not implying these refs were bad, I'm just saying it is impossible for a ref or an umpire to be completely neutral when surrounded by packed houses of crazed fans!:toast:
