This is not a thread about which forum is better but the qualities that they contain. I would like some input from everyone on why you post here and not across the street.

For me it's the quality of the topics and posts. Whenever i load up this page i can always find something that im interested and prolly many can agree. There are some quality posters here that i always enjoy reading. It seems that there is always something going on overhere and i'm not talking about the soap operas. Also the forum layout is really attracting. I haven't seen a forum that "looks" better than Rx except OGD which also looks professional but lacks the traffc. I think every forum has it's ups and downs with people leaving or people talking trash but Rx has it all... it a good way. The rubber room is great to make fun of people in a good way.. or just to vent. We have some real characters here that just can't move on... i mean people talk trash to them make fun of them but they can't just let it go. This forum is very appealing and that's why it wont suffer from people departing because there is so much more to it than just couple of guys. Shrink will always drop in ... and General is still posting here like a moderator =) . With those guys leaving it's like we got a fresh start and it's a good one.

I hope this doesen't go down to RR because this is not a bash thread but just an opinion on how i feel.

Goodnight.

Well before I started posting here full time I would lurk at both places. One of the main reasons I chose this place over MW at the beginning was the website is much easier on the eyes. Everything is brighter and more colerful at this site. Then once you stay over here for a while you get to know all the posters and what each one brings to the table. Now when a rarely do lurk at the other site I feel like im a stranger in another country.

Its kind of like shopping at the same grocery store all the time. You know which isle to go to to find what you want.

Has not always been the case but right now I think TheRx has the best list of advertisers of any site...errrr...forum site. I get nervous when Fish sends up a trial ballon on the scam book BetUS. Bot for now thats the biggest difference I see. I wonder if that will continue when Shrink is gone?

Jesse, as far as Rx management/ownership goes, across the street doesn't exist. It is like a Twilight Zone episode where you look across the street from the fine ol' Rx and see....well a swirling mist and maybe space. Maybe the place where our fears and unamed troubles wait....

However, 'across the street' just references the other sports/handicapping forums that compete with the Rx. As for me....the swirling mist is as good as reality. There are no forums that compare to these on the Rx. tulsa

The taupe paint job and prettier wallpaper is softer on the eyes than camo green.

Just slightly kidding(as I actually agree with Chop's remarks about "on the eyes"), yet both are absolute top-shelf forums.

This site is very interesting and it contains excellent cappers. Just like Choptalk has said, anytime I lurk at another site I feel homesick and immediately come back home to therx. This site has grown on me over the years that I have been here. :103631605

I post at both sites and I believe this site is better, there is more depth of quality posters here and the moderation team is an asset here where at MW it is a major hinderance.

The RX has improved tremendously over the years. Taking down "Royal Sports" ad banner after numerous slowpay complaints, and refusing ad money from crooked book "BetUs" indicates a watchdog site that is truly looking out for the player. More posters are over here posting too.

Definitely right about number and quality of posts...but the question is why did it get that way!?

I agree the software is easier on the eyes but I think the number one reason by far is how the Shrink and the General have been very fair in listening to the posting community, responding to their needs and using good judgement in the many, many tricky situations that have come up over the years.

You get the feeling that as a player you really do have somewhere to turn in case you have problems in sports betting and it's not clouded by agendas, egos, childish vendettas, or simple stupidity.

Other forums are simply lacking because they don't have anyone like the Shrink who's been around the block, knows his shit and most of all LISTENS to posters who make a reasonable case.

Things should get very interesting when the Shrink's new site opens because it will indeed pose serious competition, something the Rx has never had before.

The mods here are nice people who are also knowledgable, but they are missing some of the clout and charisma that the Shrink has and so there could be some sticky situations when they will not be able to get the same results as the Shrink.

How that affects the quality of this site is anybody's guess. Predicting what several thousand people will do is never easy so I won't repeat what I said on other threads and just say I hope things work out for all parties.

Though in a handicapping contest I would gladly take the trio of Brett, Count Zero and Oddessa over anyone this place has to offer

Rx

Rx ran radio ads 3 years ago describing it as a forum with an "emphasis on free speech". Now if you want free speech, you go across the street. That is all.

Thanks Darryl and some others for the kind words...

Darryl,

I was very upset at some of the things you posted after I announced my resignation, but I do understand how disappointed you were...

As many of you can see, I have not left and I luv ya guys. I believe the quality of posters that contribute here on a regular basis are second to no one...

The moderators are the greatest too; I should know because I hired all but the last two of them and I'd have also selected TTinco & RobFunk too for this team...

And, just because I don't "work" here any longer doesn't mean that I don't care about gamblers getting "screwed" by unscrupulous operators. My dream would be that ALL SITES can one day work together to get players paid, so therefore, I am only a phone call or an email away...

Lastly, as the Founder of TheRx, don't ever underestimate my committment...

I don't read either site for the expert picks; but fun to glance at now and again.

Rx: Positives; Easier website to read with the print in red and slightly larger. Good/fresh ideas from knowledgable posters regularily.
Negatives; Mods...try to play "big shot" by moving posts to one room or the other on their personal whims; not uniformity.

Across the Street; Has breaking news first (from what Ive seen)

Both Sites: I HATE the back stabbing which I think (across the street may have a slight lead in there).

what is across the street?

"Across the street" is like if you agree with someone, you know, like "Raquel Welsh is one great piece of ass across the street." But then, if you disagree, like "A Lincoln is better than a Cadillac across the street!" you know? But then, it's also like if something's the greatest thing in the world, like Mingrio's Peppers, across the street. But it's also like saying "Go to hell!" too. Like, you know, like "Hey Mr. Gold, you got a one inch pecker?" and Goldenheim says "across the street!" Sometimes it just means across the street.
